12.02.2022 Last night at NBNRWAs Blues gig. The music was sensational. The Night Herons, Pete Romano and Mark Constable, were raw and gritty with their down home take on the Blues. Michael put in a stellar performance led by diminutive Reggie on powerhouse vocals and husband Sam on blistering lead guitar, rounded off with a tight rhythm section. Finally, another great set from On The Level, featuring the heartfelt Blues voice of Special Guest, Richard Roberts. Lucky you if you were in the audience.

31.01.2022 Hi Everyone, It’s the start of a New Year and our first Blues gig for 2022. Northern Blues N Roots WA’s monthly gig is on this coming Thursday, 3rd February, with the music starting at 7 p.m. sharp. Doors open at 6 p.m for those of you who like to order your dinner before the music starts.... Due to covid restrictions being in place these days, you will have to show proof of double vax status and personal ID at the door in order to gain entry. Mask are mandatory at all times, except when eating or drinking. Dancers from the same family can remove masks whilst dancing but all others must keep their masks on. As for the music, we get underway with exciting duo THE NIGHT HERONS, featuring PETE ROMANO on vocals and guitar and MARK CONSTABLE on harmonica and vocals. These guys are the real deal and sure to get the night off to great start. The main act is the band called MICHAEL with REGGIE on lead vocals and her husband SAM on lead guitar. We’ve had them before and they were very well-received. Finally, our fabulous House Band, ON THE LEVEL led by DAVE GILLAM and with Special Guest RICHARD ROBERTS on vocals and harmonica. Should be a night to remember !! Please remember how important it is for you to book your table as our last gig in December, we sold out the venue. Ring the Tavern on 9405 2777 and ask to be placed in the band Room for the Blues night. If you make a booking in the restaurant, then you have to make a second booking for the Band Room. Door entry is still $15 and don’t forget the mandatory Raffles with some great prizes. If you have anything in your cupboards that you can donate to the prize pool, then that would be greatly appreciated. An added bonus is the offer from Jeff Pitt from 89.7 FM, who is willing to pick up and drop off patrons in his bus, so that you can enjoy a drink or two without the worry of having to drive. Just give Jeff a ring on 0426 944 701 and leave your details and he’ll take care of the rest. A big Thank You to Jeff for his generous offer. 19.01.2022 Hi Everyone, HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all !! Let’s hope that it works out to be a good one.... After a sell-out crowd at Northern Blues N Roots WA’s monthly gig in December, we live to fight another day. Wouldn’t it be good if we could keep repeating that effort. It certainly showed the need to book your table well in advance to ensure that you get a seat. Our first Blues gig for 2022 takes place on Thursday, 3rd February, starting at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for those of you who like to order your dinner earlier. We have been informed by The Tavern that all patrons MUST BE DOUBLE VAXXED and able to provide proof of that plus valid photo ID prior to entry. Hope that doesn’t impact on too many of you. The lineup is a strong one, starting with duo THE NIGHT HERONS, featuring PETE ROMANO on lead vocals and guitar and MARK CONSTABLE on vocals and harmonica. Then the main act is the band called MICHAEL, with lead singer Reggie out front and her husband Sam on lead guitar. We’ve had them at the Club before and they were very well received. Finally, our fabulous House Band, ON THE LEVEL, with lead man DAVE GILLAM in control takes to the stage. Their Special Guest is RICHARD ROBERTS on lead vocals and harmonica. Bill Blissett has retired and been replaced on keyboards by Peter Jensen. We wish Bill well in his retirement and also good health. Expect to hear a fresh set of songs this year. Door entry remains at $15 much as we considered upping it to $20 to help cover the ever increasing costs. Don’t forget to book your table early by ringing The Tavern on 9405 2777 and asking to be placed in the Band Room. We will still have the mandatory Raffle with some great prizes. Please check your cupboards for potential prizes that you can donate. For friends of Susan and I, you know the drill. Let us know as soon as if you want to be placed on our table. 09.01.2022 A great night of Live Blues for Northern Blues N Roots WA.

08.01.2022 Hi Everyone, What a great night of Live Blues music we all enjoyed last night !! Those of you who were there know what I’m talking about. If you missed out for some reason or other, then my apologies.... The musicians were first class and lots of Special Guests jumping up with both bands. Jack Lowrie, Tommy Bosson, Fiona Garde and the awesome vocals of Leah Guelfi. We had over 100 patrons plus another 20 musos, friends and volunteers. The Raffle raised over $400, helping us to live to fight another day. Thanks for all of your support. What a pity Kniki’s vocals were so powerful that they smashed Veronica’s lovely glass platter !! Next month, on Thursday, 3rd June, we go back to our roots with some good old rock ‘n’ roll followed by a rockabilly Blues band. On The Level’s alter ego will be on stage as WAY BACK WHEN, delivering the best of 50s/60s rock ‘n’ roll. Then, a trio calling themselves THE TOMBSTONERS will belt out some classic rockabilly Blues for you to get dancing to. Door entry is $15 from 6.30.p.m. and don’t forget to make your bookings by ringing The Tavern on 9405 2777 and asking to be placed in the Band Room. Sorry for the bookings muckups last night but we managed to resolve them all to people’s satisfaction. ( I think !!) Our Raffle prizes numbered 9 items, thanks to the donations from our patrons. 02.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Great news !! Our early Xmas present for you all is that NORTHERN BLUES AND ROOTS WA is back up and running in 2021. Dave and I met with the Manager of Wanneroo Tavern tonight and he has agreed to give us a three month trial run to see if it is viable for him from a business point of view.... So, we will be back in The Function Centre for the months of February, March and April before we have another meeting with the manager to go over his figures. Our first Thursday in the month will be THURSDAY, 4TH FEBRUARY, with the music getting underway at 7 p.m. Doors will be open from 6.30.p.m. for those of you who would like to order your dinner a little earlier. Three acts, as per usual, starting with a solo/duo followed by the main band for the night. After them, we will welcome back our fabulous House Band, ON THE LEVEL, led by the co-Founder of NBNRWA in DAVE GILLAM. It should be all over Red Rover by around about 10.15 p.m., giving you all time to get home early enough to get some decent shuteye. Time to book the bands and for you to get the date in your diary. And you also need to round up a heap of friends and family to join you for the best Live Blues music in Perth’s northern suburbs. Without the numbers, the gig won’t be viable, so we need to ensure that our numbers are well and truly up. Look out for another email early in the New Year providing details of the various acts for the night.
