Dark & cool tones Dark hardwoods are a trend that is not going away anytime soon - in fact its set to become even bigger this year. Dark floors do require more maintenance than lighter floors, so we expect to see these colours in households of empty nesters or no children. There also is a shift in tones from dark reds and browns to cooler tones, like dark greys and black hardwoods.... Greys & whites Grey was one of the hottest colours for 2017, and it is staying around for 2018. From hardwoods to tiles and walls, greys are becoming even bigger. Many homeowners are turning to vinyl planks that mimic wood to get the right look, others are opting to have their existing floors refinished or whitewashed to get this trending look. Natural finishes Say goodbye to high gloss floors, which can give a dated look to your wood. Instead, matte and satin finishes will provide your flooring with a modern appearance and will be easier to maintain.
