24.01.2022 Northern Consulting Engineers have proudly sponsored the U14 Boys Townsville Sparks Basketball team’s warm up shirts. The team has played in the Queensland North Junior Basketball Competition (QNJBC) in Townsville, Cairns and Mackay over the last 2 months. Their next stop is the Queensland State Championships to be held here in Townsville from 11-14 July, competing against teams from all over the State. We congratulate them on the games played so far, and wish them the best of luck in future games during the State Championships!

20.01.2022 Derek Saw of Northern Consulting Engineers is proud to have presented at the Townsville City Council's Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Planning Course over the last week. Derek presented subjects relating to construction site hydrology, open channel hydraulics and the design of rock lining for channels. It was great to see so many new faces at the course, with Townsville leading the way when it comes to managing and caring for our waterways.

17.01.2022 Construction of the final stages of Bushland Grove residential estate, Mount Low, has recently been completed, bringing the construction phase of this 350+ allotment residential estate to a close. Planning for the project commenced in 2007, with Northern Consulting Engineers acting as lead consultant and responsible for undertaking master planning, detailed design and construction supervision for the estate. The centrepiece of the development is a beautifully landscaped park,... which includes a fantastic children's play area and basketball half court. NCE developed cost effective engineering solutions to stormwater quantity and quality management as well reducing construction costs using targeted pavement and subgrade stabilisation which worked well with Bushland Grove’s construction programming. 02.01.2022 Two aircraft hangars designed by Northern Consulting Engineers are currently under construction at the Pukaki Airfield in Twizel, New Zealand. The building pictured here will operate as a flight school, housing three Cessna aircraft and providing temporary accommodation. Structural design challenges associated with the project and addressed by NCE included the site's exposure to high wind speeds and snow loads, and its location within a moderate seismic zone.
