I wanted to use this to demonstrate a lesson I learned years ago in business - when you are outstanding at what you do, the only competition is not other businesses in your industry, it is your prospects inaction. When things arent going as well as youd like them to its easy to blame other businesses or the economy, but time and time again y...ou can find examples like the images below, or when you find businesses who are always full in towns like where I live - Townsville. All you have to be is outstanding at your service and your marketing and you will never fail. Yes it takes time to master the art of business (and the thousand parts to it), but if you have an advantage in your advertising youll be able to figure it out along the way. And for anyone who wants some tips with Facebook ads (that is what I use) Ive written some steps below to create winning ads. 1. Create an irresistible offer. 16.01.2022 As more and more companies continue to move toward advertising on Facebook due to its many advantages over offline ads, this increased demand has eaten up all of the companies supply for ads. This squeeze on available ad real estate on the platform has led to an inevitable price increase for advertisers. As Facebook is a publicly traded company they need to continue to increase revenue to appease shareholders.... To do this they need to find more areas to place ads, hence why they built their marketplace, Instant articles, Messenger, and bought Instagram. These are all simply more places to advertise. 16.01.2022 ***A Business Lesson From A Conversation About Erotic Novels*** Just had an old friend from high school reach out and want to know more about using Facebook ads to sell erotic ebook novels that he is writing. **I promise there is a valuable lesson here!... So his initial idea was to sell short ebooks for $0.99 each, then combine them for a full series to sell for $4.99. I explained that he needed to increase his customer lifetime value before it was worth running ads. It doesnt matter how good your paid advertising, youre not going to make much money selling $5 ebooks. I then gave him some examples that I have used in other industries and then came up with ideas for him spefically. For example: Idea 1. He could sell his stories for a slight loss on the front end to gain a customer, then have a think about what else his customers might need or want relating to his stories. He could set up an online store selling toys, host regular paid parties etc. I dont know much about the industry to be honest! That way if he sells items to his readers then his lifetime value per customer might go past $100. Idea 2. He could set up a membership site with $5-$10 per month with regular stories. A customer might stay on for 10 months on average for a $100 value. Idea 3. He could write stories for free and post a small part of the story on social media each day to build up a following. Then at the bottom of each of the days stories he could provide a link to an affiliate adult store where he gets a % of all sales through the store from his link. == The two lessons of the story - first, there are many ways to monetise an industry.
