22.01.2022 A little bit late, but here we go: . Team 1 Open Div 1: A disappointing loss 40-25. We came up against a good team who were well organised. We were missing 4 players due to WANL trials so that played a part in our performance. Olivia Palmer played up from team 2 and fitted in really well. Whilst finishing top is out of our control, we still have plenty to play for. Big game this week against Team 2 .... Team 2 Open Div 1: The team had a one goal win this week that was down to the wire. A hectic, disorganised start to the game on the coaches part led to a scattered first quarter and a decent lead to the opposition. Throughout the game the team settled and started working together. They played an excellent 4th quarter that saw them come away with the win. . Team 3 Open Div 2: Won 24-20. A game where we didn’t play to our attacking strengths making some poor decisions and pass execution was not great. From a defensive point it was excellent. We did a lot of work last training on creating defensive pressure and tonight saw the benefits of executing that pressure across the whole court. Had we converted all those turnovers the margin would have been bigger. A big thank you to Ava from the 16’s for filling in for us and doing a great job. And lastly Happy 16th Birthday Maddi T. Leesa . Team 4 18U Div 1: Team 4 had a sluggish start to the game when they needed to assert their presence from the 1st whistle. A more focused team for the remaining 3 qtrs which saw some brilliant passages. A high work rate defensively with multiple forced errors and in transition our timing and ball placement was much improved. So many coaching moments when skills learnt in training are implementing into the game. Thanks to Lily for seamlessly joining us from team 5 and not missing a beat. Well done everyone, a great result all around. Won: 35 - 7 . Team 5 15U Div 1: Lost 33 - 21 after a seven goal jump start from the opposition we got into the game. C court conversion was not as high as we had set and we addressed that and turned around the approach to the game attacking every ball in front and defending closely. Our objective was achieved in the last half of the game which was set by the team who wanted show they could raise the score line and the last quarter was the best by goals scored, well done Judy team 5 . Team 6 15U Div 3: Won 18-10. Would have liked a bigger margin as we beat this team by more last time. We didn’t capitalise on forced errors and made a lot of unforced errors of our own. The team is getting better at keeping width and depth on the court. Decision making and patience are our next targets. Well done girls See more
