25.01.2022 The Northern Rainfall Onset date occurs when the rainfall total reaches 50mm since the 1st of September. Its considered to be approximately the amount of rainfall required to stimulate plant growth. Check out how the forecasts provided by the Bureau of Meteorology have improved each fortnight since June. The 5th and final issue was released on 27th August 2020.
25.01.2022 Yesterday Northern Gulf hosted the Gulf Fire Forum out at Mount Surprise. The event brought together fire experts and graziers from across the region to learn and share knowledge about fire and how it can be used as an effective land management tool. It was a great day and included a field trip to Undara to see some experimental plots and learn more about how Queensland Parks and Wildlife manage fire in National Parks. Thanks to Firescape Science, QDAF, QPWS and Ewamian Aboriginal Corporation for your support of this event.

16.01.2022 Northern Gulf NAIDOC week celebrations commenced today with the NAIDOC week "Caring for Country" awards. This year's awards were for emerging leaders for their contributions to preserving the culture for future generations in the Northern Gulf Region. At the NAIDOC awards morning tea emerging leaders Wallace Jensen, Gullara McInnies and Chiveree Brady were presented with plaques in recognition of their contributions.

E-Beef Project Staff from North Queensland came together last week to install plots that will assess the effectiveness of wet season spelling in the Northern Gulf region. The ENSO Outlook remains at La Nia WATCH. They spent time with some of the directors from the Tagalaka PBC reviewing the draft of the new on-country plan and yesterday they were on-country for a inter-generational field trip. The rangers are hosted by Northern Gulf Resource Management Group and funded by a QLD Working on country grant.

09.01.2022 Reconciliation Week is in full swing. Our team has been lucky enough to celebrate our reconciliation journey in Undara, on Ewamian country. This beautiful sunrise on a bluff overlooking Undara was captured by Wayne from OTA Productions , who joined our team to help document the story of Reconciliation. Our celebrations at Undara were completed in partnership with the Ewamian Aboriginal Corporation, proudly supported by the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and the Celebrating Reconciliation Small Grants Program, and hosted at Undara Experience .

01.01.2022 Northern Gulf, Tagalaka PBC, Croydon Shire Council and Croydon CDEP have partnered to bring NAIDOC celebrations to Croydon. On Thursday 12th November a morning tea was held at ANZAC park. Mayor Trevor Pickering presented Tagalaka ranger, Morella Baker with a Northern Gulf NAIDOC week award in recognition of Morella’s contributions to preserving Tagalaka’s culture for future generations.
