23.01.2022 The Tasmanian Government is looking to lift restrictions on entry to the State from safe jurisdictions if monitoring and preparedness suggests it is safe to do so. In preparation for this, the State Control Centre’s Public Information Unit is supporting the University of Tasmania to deliver a survey, which aims to understand community’s attitudes and concerns in relation to border management and compliance measures. This survey is part of a series that is being conducted as T...asmania progresses through the phases of the COVID-19 crisis to recovery and beyond. The findings will help to inform Public Information Unit’s work on longer-term community behavioural change for COVID-19 safety. 21.01.2022 Road Reconstruction Advice Council will be commencing Road Reconstruction works at Macquarie Road on Wednesday 18th November until Christmas time. These works will start from the Southern End of the Valleyfield Road intersection, consisting of a 2km stretch of road, heading south towards Campbell Town.

21.01.2022 Recently we have received a number of complaints regarding illegal parking within our area, including people parking in designated handicap spots without a permit displayed. Under section 203 of the Road Rules Act 2009, this is an enforceable police matter. We encourage our community to ensure that they are not obstructing access or driveways, or parking in handicap zones without a permit displayed.

The successful applicant will provide care and support for children in accordance with individual children’s development plans, centre policy, and relevant legislation. This position will also provide educational leadership to Educators with lesser qualifications and experience in relation to planning for individuals and groups, challenging behaviours, and disabilities. This position will commence as full-time employment for a period of four months, then reduce to a part time engagement, with up to thirty hours per week from February 2021. For your application to be considered, you must have completed a Diploma in Children’s Services or similar, in addition to having proven experience in a childcare setting. You must also have a current Working with Vulnerable People Registration and up to date First Aid certification. You will also have excellent communication skills, including active listening skills; a sound understanding of the health and safety risks involved with working with children and be able to demonstrate sensitivity, patience, and kindness. 18.01.2022 PERTH RESIDENTS IMPORTANT CHANGES TO YOUR WASTE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION DAY Perth township’s Waste and Recycling collection will be split into two collection zones from Monday 14th December 2020: ... West Perth (Green on the collection calendar and shaded area on the map), and East Perth (Yellow on collection calendar, unshaded on map) This means collection in Perth will be split in the middle from the main street. The main street starts at the entrance of Perth south roundabout and follows through to the northern roundabout All bins on the western side of the main street and west of main street will be collected on a Monday, and all the bins on the eastern side of the main street and east of main street will be collected as per normal on a Friday. The new arrangements will start from Monday 14th December, your waste and recycling will be collected on a Monday instead of the current Friday, this is three days after your current collection day. You will need to put your bins out on Sunday night for collection on Monday morning. Your additional Christmas collection this year will now be on 21st December. Eligibility Grants are available to support Tasmanian athletes with disability and their coaches and/or carers, competing at national or international level competition, held in Australia or overseas. Grants for national level selection competitions or selection camps will also be considered. The sport must be recognised by Sport Australia. Applicants must be able to demonstrate their selection for the event is based on merit and is fully endorsed by the relevant state or national sporting organisation. Funding from all sources should be detailed and attached to the application. Applications must be received six weeks before departure for the competition. Athletes in receipt of Tasmanian Institute of Sport scholarship funding are not eligible to apply. Eligible costs covered by the Fund include competition registration fees, travel and accommodation for the athlete, carer and/or coach. 10.01.2022 Today we celebrated the official launch of the new Avoca playground, officially opened by Senator Claire Chandler and Mayor Mary Knowles OAM. Council received $50,000 in funding from the Community Development Grants Programme, as well as $36,680 from the Tasmanian Community Fund towards the refurbishment, which was one of our identified priority projects in 2019.
