20.01.2022 We are excited to announce that McClelland will be re-opening its gates for visitors on Wednesday 2 December. We are looking forward to finally sharing the much...-anticipated exhibition ‘Inside Out: Space and Process’ with you, presenting the practices of Anne-Marie May and the late Erwin Fabian; along with the initial outdoor instalment of ‘Site and Sound: Sonic art as ecological practice’, an exhibition that invites audiences to consider the importance of listening as a means towards a better understanding of the urgent and complex environmental issues facing our planet. To help visitors navigate the sculpture park and gallery safely, we will be introducing some important measures to support public health and the safety of visitors, volunteers, and staff, including timed-entry booking to McClelland, maintaining a rigorous cleaning schedule, and limiting numbers within the galleries. We will also be asking visitors to wear a face mask, practice social distancing, and encouraging cashless payments. Further information about McClelland’s reopening is available on the McClelland website. Timed-entry bookings will be available to book online from 25 November. We look forward to enjoying the summer with you at McClelland! #McClellandSculptureParkandGallery #WelcomeBack #SummerAtMcClelland Image: McClelland Sculpture Park+Gallery, Photo Mark Chew See more

16.01.2022 Have you seen this crab? A photo was recently taken of what looks like the exotic Asian shore crab at Mount Martha and Rickett’s Point beaches. The species is... not known to be established in Australia and could spread rapidly and consume and outcompete our native species including commercially important scallops, mussels and oysters. Please report any sightings by emailing [email protected], phoning 136 186 or via the Snap, Send Solve app. www.vic.gov.au/marine-pests See more

14.01.2022 *** IMPORTANT UPDATE - TRAINS RETURN TO THE MORNINGTON RAILWAY***** We wish to advise the public that we will be recommencing train running from Saturday 14th o...f November, when we plan to run the first of a series of trains for testing and maintenance purposes. This is to ensure that our infrastructure is safe and ready for restarting passenger train operations shortly under our Covid-safe arrangements. We are aware that many people have been enjoying walking along the rail corridor during our enforced closure, but its important that this practice now ceases, as we will be returning to operational status and passenger and volunteer safety are paramount. You will shortly see new signage at entrance points to the railway advising that the corridor is now closed to unauthorised public use under Rail Safety National Law. In the future we would like to be able to share the corridor with the public in a safe and controlled manner, so please consider supporting the team at Mornington Community Safe Link, who are working closely with us and many other stakeholders, including environmental groups, to establish a much-needed shared-usage path along the railway line between Moorooduc Station and Mornington Station so that the public, train operation and our unique natural biodiversity in the corridor can safely co-exist. You can sign the Safelink petition by following the link shown below: http://chng.it/QLKsSBfL Image with thanks @https://www.facebook.com/danielle.carlisle1
