25.01.2022 Notice from club secretary Hi All, I am pleased to announce that we have been granted permission to commence training from the Council and Dogs Victoria (our governing body). The Committee has been working with the local council formulating a plan for us to return to training, whilst adhering to all the government restrictions.... In order for the club to adhere to Covid-19 restrictions, training is going to be a little different from pre-Covid conditions, but similar to the training sessions back in June. All members who wish to attend training must book into class via the Club website and wear a mask to training. Once the booking system is live, I will be back in touch with details. Sunday morning training sessions will be for Puppy, Foundation and Class 1 members only. All those members who were previously in puppy class, will now be in Foundation class. Wednesday night training will only be available to Class 2 and above members, at the moment. Due to the training disruption caused by Covid-19, the Committee has decided to carry your membership into 2021 (more information to follow). I look forward to seeing many of you back at the Club. Regards Glenys

17.01.2022 Thank you for waiting patiently whilst we sorted out the bugs in the appointment system. The booking system is now open again for Sunday only, take it slowly as the system may crash. If there are any multiple bookings, I will fix them manually. Bookings will close at 6:00pm on Saturday evening. Sunday Class times for this Sunday are: 9:15 - 10:00 am - Foundation and Class 1, 18 places available each class... 10:15 - 11:00 am - Foundation and Class 1, 18 places available each class 11:15 am - 12:00 pm - Foundation and Class 2, 9 places available each class; Class 1, 18 places available Sunday morning training sessions will be for Foundation, Class 1 and Class 2 members only. All those members who were previously in puppy class, will now be in Foundation class. In order for the club to adhere to Covid-19 restrictions, all members who wish to attend training must book into class via the Northern Obedience Dog Club website. Link - http://northernobedience.com.au, go to the Class Booking page, scroll down the page, select your Class level and then the date and time, complete your personal details, tick the box and submit your booking. Your booking will be confirmed via return email, do not come if your booking has not been confirmed. I do monitor the back end daily and will manually adjust any multiple bookings made in error. If you have booked and can’t make it to class, please cancel your booking via the link in your confirmation email, to give another member a training opportunity. The Club will be monitoring class attendance. Remember one handler per dog. Remember if you are coming to training, we need you healthy and well and adhering to all the hygiene and social distancing restrictions. Do not come if you have any symptoms of a respiratory illness with or without fever, nor if you have been in close contact with a confirmed or suspected Covid-19 case. The club still has limited access to the clubhouse at the moment, but we do have toilet access.

16.01.2022 With temperatures set to reach 30 degrees celsius today it is important to remember dogs cannot cool down as effectively as humans. 1. If you must train do it before the heat sets in for the day or wait until the cooler evening 2. Make sure you dog has plenty of water 3. Make sure you dog has shade to shelter from the sun

06.01.2022 I heard about a dog sport involving jumping over things. I thought that I would start off observing strict health and safety protocols. (thus ensuring a soft landing) Ruff Clancy. p.s. the bowl fillers assure me that the roles of paper were not panic purchased!

04.01.2022 With the recent announcement of the easing of restrictions we thought it is appropriate to highlight the process that we will need to follow before training can commence. We will require clearance to commence from: 1. Local Council - determines the access to facilities and terms an condition of access to those facilities 2. Dog Victoria ... 3. Sports and Recreation Victoria We expect to recommence mid November once we can demonstrate we can adhere to the requirements of the above organisations. Details of how this will operate in practice will be provided as we get more details on the conditions we need to meet in order to commence training.

02.01.2022 To All existing members. As part of the conditions of recommencement we will be limited to the number of people permitted on the oval at any one time. Class times and number will be restricted and members will need to book into a training session (similar to what we did for a brief period in June this year) Prospective members will need to contact the club on the mobile numbers or email address provided on the club website as they will NOT be able to turn up at the club roo...ms and join (as was previously the case). Introduction sessions will be contact free and pre-booked. We appreciate that this is a change to way we operate and may be inconvenient to some however by complying with these restrictions we will be able to recommence training. https://northernobedience.com.au/
