23.01.2022 More Jobs Great Fishing For too long, settling Blue Mud Bay has been in the too hard basket.... Not anymore. Our action plan delivers an Aboriginal seafood company & you can still go for a flick at your favourite spots. That's how you make sure everybody wins. Thank you Northern Land Council, Anindilyakwa Land Council, Tiwi Land Council Amateur Fishermen's Association NT (AFANT) & Northern Territory Seafood Council. I know a bad day fishing is better than any day working - but what if you can do both. #territorytogether
23.01.2022 As Election Day gets closer, it’s good to see parties keeping their attention on tackling gamba. Territory Labor’s campaign launch last weekend featured their p...lan for a gamba army and Bushfires NT support, introduced by Chief Minister Michael Gunner and Labor candidates for seats in the rural area. We’ll never tell you who to vote for, but we’ll let you know when parties and candidates shout out their policies on gamba grass.
22.01.2022 We wish this was a joke. Put Terry and his Alliance where they belong ... Last.
22.01.2022 The Territory's natural environment is one of our greatest assets, and we understand that a strong economy relies on a healthy environment. The Territory #Labor Government announced an increased investment to combat Gamba grass and create a Gamba Army, which was highlighted earlier this year through the Territory Labor Government’s Covid-19 Operation Rebound Paper. A Gamba Army will create around 45 jobs for Territorians ... Territory #Labor will continue to create #jobs and protect our #environment
21.01.2022 Chief Minister Michael Gunner: Today our Territory Labor Government announced an additional 20 hospital beds will become available at Royal Darwin Hospital following the opening of a new ward at Palmerston Regional Hospital. An eight-bed 48-hour care surgical service is also soon commencing at Palmerston Hospital, freeing up capacity at RDH - helping them assist more emergency surgery patients.... It means ENT, urology and gynaecology procedures will be performed at the Palmerston campus for the first time. Throughout this crisis, we’ve all been reminded of how important our healthcare workers are. And our government is backing them in. We've delivered a number of key health and hospitals projects in this term of government - and we will always invest in better health care for all Territorians. We will keep doing whatever it takes to protect Territorians. We will always put the Territory first.
21.01.2022 From the Chief Minister Michael Gunner: It’s not confusing. It’s simple. I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. ... Our hard border controls will be in place for at least another 18 months. That means cops on borders and in airports, arrival declaration forms, and mandatory supervised quarantine for anyone from a hot spot. The CLP call this reckless. I don’t think there’s anything reckless about protecting the Territory. And protecting Territorians. Look at New Zealand. More than 100 days without any cases. And now they are back in double digits again. We cannot be complacent. And we won’t be complacent. If it can happen in New Zealand, it can happen here too. It can happen in Adelaide, it can happen in Perth. It can happen anywhere. Because we have our border controls in place, we will be ready if or when it happens. Right now, our borders are closed to all of Victoria and all of Greater Sydney that’s where the risk is. If we need to declare new hot spots in response to an outbreak, we will. You saw how quickly we moved with the potential Brisbane outbreak a few weeks ago. I know it inconvenienced a lot of people who wanted to come home or go to Brissy. But we aren’t taking chances with this. So I’ll say this again too: if you don’t have to leave the Territory, don’t. You are safest here. If you leave, you might be stranded. I know none of this is particularly uplifting, but this is the situation we are in right now. I’m not going to stuff you around with some fairytale that this will all be over soon, because it won’t. We are in this for the long haul. And with your support, we will keep doing whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to keep the Territory safe.
19.01.2022 Early voting opens this morning in Berry Springs at the old Caltex. It’s open everyday in the lead up to Election Day. No restrictions on early voting, just stop by when it’s convenient to you.
19.01.2022 Smart environment policy is smart economic policy. Fires fuelled by Gamba grass threaten lives, property and the environment across the Top End - and we know that more action is needed to mitigate and eradicate Gamba grass. That's why the Michael Gunner Labor Government investing a further $500,000 and creating a Gamba Army.... Our Gamba Army will provide targeted support in areas of significance and provide up to 45 local jobs for Territorians to assist with stimulating the economy. We're protecting the Territory - now & into the future.
19.01.2022 This is a huge and important win for the nearly 250,000 Territorians living across more than 1.4 million square kilometres, as well as the remote Indian Ocean T...erritories of Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Thank you everyone who helped campaign for fair representation for the NT through written submissions, evidence to the committee, signing the petition, and sharing on social media! It all made a difference! Warren Snowdon MP, Luke Gosling MP, Don Farrell and I welcome the government’s agreement with the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters (JSCEM) recommendation today that a guaranteed minimum of two lower house seats for the NT should be legislated. Thank you to Dr Sam McMahon for your work on this. We now look forward to legislation passing the Parliament before the end of this year to protect the Territory’s lower house seats by law. #ntvoices #ntseats #TerritoryProud Luke Gosling MP Warren Snowdon MP Don Farrell The NT News Christmas Island Freedom Day Festival The NT News ABC Darwin Katie Woolf Media Cocos Keeling Islands Visitor Centre Northern Land Council Central Land Council Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory ICPA Aust - Isolated Children's Parents' Association ICPA NT Chamber of Commerce NT Northern Territory Government Selena Uibo: Member for Arnhem Caama Alice Springs Teabba - Top End Aboriginal Bush Broadcasting Association First Nations Media Australia ABC Alice Springs Northern Territory Council of Social Service Danila Dilba Health Service Wagait Shire Council Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Unions NT United Workers Union The Australia Institute Anindilyakwa Land Council Christmas Island Community Resource Centre Alice Springs Tangentyere-Women Concerned Australians

16.01.2022 I've told you we're doing whatever it takes to save the lives of Territorians, and to save Territory jobs. But I want to show you what that actually looks like.... This is what we've done over the last 7 months to protect Territorians. This election, know that a Territory Labor Government will always put the Territory first. #territorytogether

16.01.2022 The Territory #Labor Government released the Territory’s first ever Renewable Hydrogen Strategy. Hydrogen has many advantages as an energy store and carrier. It can be manufactured with zero emissions, is energy dense and can be stored and efficiently transported, and it can be converted to heat through combustion or to electricity in a fuel cell, without creating any greenhouse gas emissions We are positioning the Territory to be at the forefront of the renewable hydrogen ...industry and the fight against climate change. This strategy provides the vision and the plan to make it happen

11.01.2022 From the Chief Minister Michael Gunner yesterday: Today we hit zero active cases of COVID-19 in the Territory. And we have still never had any community transmission. ... I know this can change at any moment. It’s likely we will get cases again. It’s not something any of us should take for granted. But it does mean our hard borders for hotspots policy is working. To every single frontline worker who has fought this battle from the very beginning - thank you. Thank you for the sacrifices you continue to make to keep the Territory safe. Thank you for doing everything you can to protect our vulnerable remote communities. As Territorians, now is not the time to be complacent. If you don’t have to leave the Territory - don’t. Keep up your hand hygiene practices, and stick to your bubble. Territorians have been the best so far - and together, we will get through this. #territorytogether
09.01.2022 Reason 1 through 10 on why Labor supports the LGBTQIA+ community. Not included: The CLP and Terry Mills’ Territory Alliance opposing all of these.
09.01.2022 Thank you heroes. Our Territory Labor Government invested in the new Bushfires NT headquarters in Acacia Hills which opened earlier this year. It was in...credible to watch it all in action - knowing staff, volunteers and compliance officers are able to work together at the same facility, to keep our communities safe. They're all tirelessly working to keep protecting lives & homes - and we are so grateful.
07.01.2022 I popped down to take a look at the new Bunnings in Palmerston and also the new intersection which our Government has upgraded collaborating with the City of Pa...lmerston and Bunnings - they are both looking amazing. And watch until the end - who can name the famous dinosaur who is now located at the entrance of the carpark? See more
