These treatments are great for increasing a collagen response because they generate inflammation and heat. But we tell clients ALL the time to avoid these things for Melasma. . Melasma is all about slow, careful and gentle treaments. If microneedling is used it needs to be at the extremely superficial level which is just to allow products to absorb better (home rollers). . LA...SERS need to be Q-switched which shatter pigmentation with less heat. 04.01.2022 Our most common lip request is natural lips. There is no excuse for distorted and overfilled lips that do not respect facial proportions. Full lips CAN look fab but they have to suit YOUR face and the filler has to be able to remain in place. The most common problem we see from overfilled lips is that there is simply too much product and it has been under pressure and has been forced outside the lips themselves.... CT scanning has shown that filler lasts many years (much longer than you would expect) and you just don’t need to have your lip filler that often. Trust me, people are noticing bad lip filler. They come into the clinic and discuss it with me because it’s made them apprehensive about having any treatment. Shona graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Nursing Science in 1995. She spent the next two years gaining nursing experience in Brisbane and then took the opportunity to work overseas. In London, Shona specialised in surgical theatre nursing at Moorefields Eye Hospital and In 2005 Shona joined a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at his pr...estigious clinic in central London. This is where here passions were forged. Along will all the conferences, Shona gained experience and certificates in dermal fillers, muscle relaxing injections, advanced chemical skin peels, light therapies, laser rejuvenation and other treatments such as mesotherapy. During her surgical assisting she also gained knowledge about cosmetic surgical procedures. In 2011, Shona returned home to North Queensland with an invaluable amount of knowledge and experience. 02.01.2022 This was a tricky one. When we have an isolated dark skin spot these are the questions we ask ourselves: 1. Is it a melanoma? 2. What's the "best way to treat" ? 3. How are we going to minimise any treatment complications?... This was a Solar Lentigo (AKA liver spot) and was not dangerous but the patient wanted it gone!!! She didn't have any other areas of concern so she didn't need a full face treatment. She was also very tanned (caramel Indian skin) so she was at greater risk of Post Inflammatory Pigmentaion (dark scarring) #postinflammatoryhyperpigmentation We spot-treated her with a medical-strength acid and then used a prescription cream to minimise scarring afterwards #chemicalpeel She had some crusting for 5 days but no downtime.
