19.01.2022 Lino Alvarez/La Paloma are collaborating with artist Euan Macleod for an exhibition at King St Gallery on William , Sydney, opening Sept 1- paintings and ceramics. Lino last worked with Euan for the 2009 Triennale of Ceramics with Australian Galleries.

19.01.2022 Happy 150th Birthday Hill End Methodist Church, the church was taken over by the Church of England in the 1920s and became know as St Andrews. The building is currently owned by Hill End Artist Luke Sciberras.

18.01.2022 We are pleased to announce Northeys Luxury Apartment will re-open on 1st June with Northeys Store re-opening on 6th June. We have been very busy while closed with deep cleaning of entire building and all stock. We have also repainted, so everything is fresh and sparkling for our guests and customers return. Obviously we will be practising hygiene and physical distancing rules with-in Northeys Store and apartment. 14.01.2022 Our first day of opening was a great success with everyone abiding by our new Covid-19 safe store conditions. We really appreciate everyones acceptance of the new way of life at present and willingness to be part of Australias fight to control this virus. Everyone should be so proud of themselves. With some restriction on numbers for the Bald Hill Mine Tour the tour is fully booked for Sunday and Monday. Of course History Hill is open and available for self-guided mine tours and dont forget the magnificent Goldfields Museum while youre there. 13.01.2022 Northeys covid-safe precautions are working well with social distancing conditions with-in the store and hand sanitiser being used by all customers entering. Come on in for all your fossicking gear, piece of local gold, that perfect piece of enamelware or quirky gift. Our new cleaning and disinfecting regime is also in full swing in Northeys Apartment. Thanks for everyones commitment to keeping safe. Its wonderful to see so many people out and about enjoying beautiful Hill ...End, many are first time visitors to the area. Even though we are entering the colder months, Hill End in Winter has much to offer in the way of cosy fires in the General Store and Royal Hotel. Indoor activities such as the Bald Hill Mine Tour, Heritage Centre, La Paloma Pottery and the magnificent History Hill Goldfields Museum and Mine are all operating and of course those frosty mornings with mist in the valleys are perfect for all photographers. You may even be lucky and see some snow! So get your winter woollies on and come on out. See more

12.01.2022 Hill End & District Volunteer Bushfire Brigade Update: The Brigade is doing its best to get things back on track since the partial easing of COVID-19 Restrictions. Training for both our Cadets and Adult Members will recommence shortly. Those involved will be contacted to ensure dates chosen work for everyone. Brigade Vehicles are currently undergoing their annual inspections/service. When the Cat 1A Tanker goes for its service the Brigade purchased powered hose reel will be ...fitted, this will be a great improvement in fireground operation, thanks again to those who made cash donations which made this possible. A major change in Brigade vehicles has been the swapping of one of our large Cat 1 Tankers for a second Cat 7 Tanker (pictured), this single cab vehicle will further enhance our quick response to callouts. Brigade drivers are currently familiarising themselves with its operation. Our annual "Get Ready Weekend" event is in the planning process, watch this space for more news closer to the date. Clearly signposted this walk leads to a deep gully where youll discover old mine sha...fts and the remnants of Chinese and European alluvial mining techniques. Close your eyes and you can almost hear the sounds of former gold miners searching for their fortune. Walk alongside magnificent wattle trees in full bloom, after which this area was named. See more

The DVD is a must have for all those who love Australian gold history and in particular Hill Ends role in the making of that history. Copies are available from History Hill & Northeys Store.

04.01.2022 The Hill End & District Brigade would like to thank all those NSW residents who so generously made donations during and following the last Fire Season. The Brigade will use this grant money, plus some of its own funds, to purchase and have installed a Genset to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to the Hill End Fire Station.
