25.01.2022 Looking for a new addition to your family? Or know someone who would suit a gorgeously long legged low maintenance companion? The Greyhound Adoption Program is a wonderful organisation finding forever homes for greyhounds and this Saturday is their big Adoption & Foster Day! Click on the link below for full details and more information about some of the characters up for adoption....

25.01.2022 ** IMPORTANT UPDATE ** IS YOUR PET ON LONG TERM MEDICATION OR SPECIAL PRESCRIPTION FOOD? IF SO, PLEASE READ OUR IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS BELOW.... Do you have enough supply of your pets medicine or special prescription food to last you 30 days? With the situation regarding COVID-19 changing daily and forced shutdown of non-essential services on the horizon (please note supermarkets will remain open!), it may be difficult to organise essential medication or prescription foo...d for your pet at short notice. At this stage, we are unsure if the Government will classify vet clinics as an essential service or not. As such, we recommend ensuring you have at least one months supply of medicines/prescription food to ensure you dont run short. Please call ahead on 08 8262 6325 (leave us a voice message if calling out of normal business hours), email us at [email protected] or send us a Facebook message. We will have your order ready for speedy collection and call you once ready for pickup. Orders can be delivered to the car park also - simply call us when you arrive at the clinic and we will bring your order out to you :) On a lighter note, we hope everyone managed to pop outside and enjoy the gorgeous sunshine today! If not yet, there is still time :) The Northfield Vet Clinic Team

25.01.2022 Some days are certainly more unusual than others Meet Vincent Van Goat! In case you couldnt tell from his missing horn, Vinnie is Nurse Marshas problem child After finding him with his leg caught in a fence she rushed him to the clinic for some x-rays Thankfully no breaksalthough he may have a limp for some time. But dont worry! It wont impact his busy lifestyle of eating and sleeping

23.01.2022 **CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) - WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR MY PET?** Scientific studies to date have found no evidence that your furry family members can catch COVID-19 - even if their owner is infected with the virus. Similarly, you cant catch COVID-19 from your pet either. ... **WITH THE CURRENT SOCIAL DISTANCING RECOMMENDATIONS, WHAT DO I DO IF MY PET NEEDS TO COME TO THE VET?** Call us on 08 8262 6325 as per normal, however, in the best interests of public safety, we will now be asking at the time of booking if you have any cold or flu symptoms, have been overseas in the past 14 days or have been exposed to any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past 14 days. If the answer to any of these questions is yes, we ask that you do not automatically attend the clinic with your pet - please check in with us first over the phone. Please do not worry - we are still here for you and your pet. We have specific protocols in place which we will discuss with you over the phone to ensure our clients, staff and their extended families are not placed at risk of exposure to COVID-19 - whilst ensuring the best level of veterinary care is still available for your pet. WHEN VISITING NORTHFIELD VET CLINIC: - Please be patient - our staff are busier than usual with extra cleaning duties and longer phone conversations, as we take extra measures to ensure the good health of our local pet community - Please use the hand sanitiser upon arrival - Please limit the number of people attending with your pet (where possible, try & keep a one pet:one owner ratio) - Please call ahead and try & give us 24 hours notice if you need repeat scripts, food or products. We will have them ready for speedy collection when you arrive to minimise wait times. - If you prefer, you are welcome to wait in the car park or outside the clinic with your pet until our vet is ready to see you. In this situation, please call us when you arrive on site so that we can check you in and let you know when we are ready for you. Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as we navigate this tricky period for human health. Questions or simply unsure about your particular situation? Call us on 08 8262 6325 or email us at [email protected] so we can help. Stay well everyone! The Northfield Veterinary Clinic Team

16.01.2022 DONT FORGET YOUR POCKET PETS! The forecast for this week is hot, hot, hot! With Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday estimated to reach a top of 41 degrees! Small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and even birds are particularly susceptible to heat. If possible, please bring your little critters inside during extremely hot weather. An air conditioned space or even a room with cool tiles such as a laundry or bathroom would be greatly beneficial in cooling them down. We are ...aware that it may not always be possible to bring your rabbits or birds inside during hot weather. If this is the case, then you can drape their cage with a wet towel, and provide them with an ice pack (a frozen water bottle will do just as well) so that they can lean against it and regulate their own body temperature. Birds can also be lightly misted with a spray bottle every few hours, or as needed If outside, make sure your pets are protected from the sun, and keep in mind that shady spots move throughout the day as the sun moves! And as always - plenty of fresh water should be available at all times! Stay cool! The Team at Northfield Veterinary Clinic See more

06.01.2022 Hello, my name is Dobby and I am looking for my master. (Harry Potter reference ) I have two foster mums, Casey-Lee and Larissa - they are super great! But they already have a big fur family (4 cats, 2 dogs) and I need something a bit smaller, something to call my own, forever! Dobbys story:... Dobby came to us just over 2 weeks ago after being found at a wreckers, frightened, hungry and very hot . He spent his first 2 nights scared and lonely crying for his mum and siblings - it broke our hearts as it seemed there was nothing we could do to comfort him. It took about 3 days for him to accept human contact and about a week for him to stop being scared. He has since not looked back! He has made best friends with 2 of our other cats and is slowly accepting dogs as companions. He is a cheeky little fellow that zooms around in his mad moments, jumping on your toes under the bed covers and doing cartwheels when he runs away. He loves to play and explore but at night time sleeps curled up in Larissas arms. This little guy is going to need a patient caring home that will give him time to blossom. We believe he has been through a lot in his short little life that has left him frightened of the world. With love and patience we have so far seen his confidence grow in leaps and bounds so we know with the right humans he will continue to grow into an amazing cat Dobby is approximately 5 weeks old, vet checked by our awesome vets at NVC, wormed and flea treated. His first vaccination will be due in a weeks time. If you are interested in Dobby please send through a private message and Casey-Lee will answer any questions you might have and possibly arrange a meet and greet
