25.01.2022 Hi all, Sports Day will be on Thursday! Although it looks like a warm one, we are still going ahead with the sprints and tabloid events, aiming to be all finished by 12:00. The afternoon will be spent in class, out of the heat. The marathon will be run for Year 3-7 students tomorrow before recess, so make sure your child has comfy shoes on. We encourage all students to come dressed in their team colours on Thursday and make sure they are SunSmart. In a year full of change, we are excited to have the kids participate in one of their favourite days! Teachers will endeavour to post pictures and results via Seesaw, Facebook or the Newsletter. Although we will miss your cheering and support on the day, we thank you all for your understanding! Mr Tylor

22.01.2022 Roll up, roll up! David from the Port Adelaide Library is here to tell you all about Science Week 2020 and how you can get involved! "I’m performing a classic ...demonstration referred to by most as ‘Elephants Toothpaste’, this is a catalytic driven reaction using Hydrogen Peroxide and Potassium Iodide (and a little dishwashing liquid to catch any gas). Two major things happen in the reaction, the hydrogen peroxide breaks down rapidly to water and oxygen when the catalyst is added, the potential chemical energy in the reaction get turned into heat becomes very hot and steam is give off (exothermic reaction)." For a full list of events you can participate in please see our Eventbrite page: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/cityofpae-libraries-2190143 PS: Has anyone seen David, he neeeds to come back and clean up this mess!

03.01.2022 A few sore legs today at school after an amazing Port District Cross Country event yesterday! 25 North Haven students demonstrated amazing respect, effort, self-direction and leadership throughout the day and performed admirably over the treacherous 2,000 Metre course. The kids ran on sand, dirt, grass, up and down hills in a race to the finish. We must thank our amazing parent drivers. Events like this cannot happen without you guys and the kids loved hearing you cheer them ...on. I think some parents might have covered more metres than the kids! A special congratulations must go to Jordi and Amber for finishing 4th and qualifying for the Oakbank State Cross Country event in 2021, we are all very proud of you both and of all 25 competitors. We now start trialling for the Athletics carnival in Term 4, Week 3. Go North Haven! Mr Tylor
