25.01.2022 Another great, enjoyable session tonight in our high performance centre under the watchful eye of High Performance Manager Sam Yee! Well done to all!

24.01.2022 Early in the second quarter of the crucial development league game and we lead by 11 points. 4.3.27 to 2.4.16. We win today and we play finals.

24.01.2022 Clinton French to coach North Hobart Former Glenorchy star Clinton French has been appointed coach of North Hobart. He has agreed to a two-year deal with an option of a third. ... Clinton is a level 2 coach who has: a strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the current North Hobart playing list a clear outline of a competitive game plan for TSL football what areas we need to improve in an understanding of modern football trends, experience and skills in leading and developing young menboth on and off field, and extensive football networks that will bring players to the club. He has been an assistant coach with North Hobart this year where he has developed great relationships with the players and shown that he is a very good leader. Clinton was a member of Glenorchy’ s 2016 premiership team and won the Baldock Medal for the Best Player on the Ground in that grand final. His previous coaching experience prior to being an assistant with us this year includes coaching Glenorchy’s Development League team to the 2016 grand final and being the forwards coach at Glenorchy in 2019. He was selected in the QAFL team of the year in 2010 playing for Wilston Grange. He represented Tasmania in 2012 and played in three consecutive grand finals for Aspley Football Club in the NEAFL from 2013-15, winning the premiership in 2014. In all three years he was also a member of the club’s leadership group. He returned to Glenorchy in 2016 and had another stint with Aspley in 2017 playing finals and being the club’s vice-captain. He retired from TSL footy at the end of 2019 as a life member of Glenorchy having played 155 games for the club and being in the club’s top 20 goal kickers for the club. Club President Craig Martin said that Clinton was a great appointment for the club to continue the great work that former coach Richard Robinson has done. He presented to a sub-committee tasked with finding Richard’s replacement and we were blown away by his grasp of leadership, talent development, conflict resolution, modern footy trends, the strengths and weaknesses of how we currently play, how we can improve and what we need to do to improve and a forensic examination of our playing list and the types of players we need. He understands leadership, modern footy game plans and trends and will empower and grow the group and provide great leadership for our club. We believe he is the person to take us into the finals and deliver us our next flag. Clinton was strongly endorsed by a number of respected football people including four-time premiership winning coach at Clarence and member of the AFL Tasmania Hall of Fame in Grant Fagan who worked with Clinton at Glenorchy. Outgoing coach Richard Robinson also told the club that Clinton reminds him strongly of our 2003 Premiership coach Brendon Bolton. Below: President Craig Martin congratulates Clinton on his appointment.

23.01.2022 Half time in the under 18s and Clarence lead by 17 points. Clarence 5.2.32 to North Hobart 2.3.15. We need to be a bit more clinical with the way we’re delivering the hall into our forward line.

22.01.2022 A huge thanks to our magnificent volunteers SFL grand final day is a huge day for us at the home of footy and once again our magnificent volunteers have done the club proud by working so hard for the club. One of the things that struck me when our family came to the club many years ago - when son Nat Martin - started playing for the famous Red and Blue - is the love and goodwill that exists for North Hobart.... That was evident once again today with so many members of the Red and Blue family turning out to help the club on what was a very average day weather wise. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I love you all. Craig

22.01.2022 Great contest but we go down by less than 2 kicks

22.01.2022 Four Volunteers Needed for Tomorrow Hi everyone tomorrow is a big day for the club with the SFL grand final being held at the Home of Footy. 18.01.2022 Jack Sandric re-signs for the next two years Gun midfielder Jack Sandric has confirmed he is relocating to Hobart and has signed for the club for the next two years. Jack (24) left Tasmania six years ago but returned home this year when Coronavirus hit Melbourne and will stay in Hobart and continue playing for the Dees.... He played for Box Hill and Coburg when in Melbourne. Coach Clinton French said it was great to have Jack stay on at the club. He’s an outstanding midfielder and liked and respected by everyone at the club. He’s also one of the team’s leaders so that’s another huge bonus for us with him staying. Jack said he loved coming back and playing for his boyhood club. I love the Dees and I’ve loved being part of it this year and I’m very keen to continue on. The club is definitely heading in the right direction and Clinton is the right man to continue the great work that’s been done. I can’t wait for next season, he said.

All three of our players have done the club proud and shown enormous leadership in coaching teams from our two junior clubs this year. The future is looking very bright indeed. Great stuff and well done! Below Tom Reeves (back row second from right) and the Sandy Bay under 15s enjoy their premiership success yesterday. And Libby front left with the North Hobart under 17 girls enjoying their premiership success.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this policy in. TSL clubs raised this as our major issue with Tricia Squires at our first meeting with her, the well publicised meeting in Campbell Town, in 2018. The Tasmanian Football Board, AFL Tasmania and all the leagues and associations in Tasmania have done a great job in doing something about an issue that is severely damaging the game in the state; the ridiculous amount of money being paid in lower level competitions w...here until now there has been no salary cap and no monitoring of a cap. Often this occurs too when players are contracted. They sign a contract with one club (often a TSL club) and then attempt to walk away from the contract because they can get more money at an SFL club or an Old Scholars club. Frankly it’s disgraceful behaviour and it’s got to stop. I know of a North Hobart player who was offered by an Old Scholars club a $1,000 sign on, $500 a game and was only required to train once a week!! This salary cap and points system will unquestionably stop the drain of players from the TSL and strengthen it because more of the state’s best players will be playing in the TSL. The state’s premier football competition must be the one paying its players the most. This is what happens in SA and WA and is a reason their competitions are so strong and are getting lots of kids drafted. The best players are playing in those states’ premier competitions as they should be. 01.01.2022 Jack Sandric and Hugh Williams Junior Appointed Co-Captains of North Hobart North Hobart Coach Clinton French tonight announced that two outstanding leaders and footballers have been appointed co-captains of the North Hobart Football club.
