The evening encompassed events that could not be held this year due to COVID-19: Music Co-Curricular Showcase (Hornsby RSL event), CAPA Electives 9-11 Showcase, 7-10 Sculpture in the Trees Exhibition, Primary Music Showcase, Primary Visual Arts Showcase. 19.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS Bethany! Year 12 2020 student Bethany Dewhurst, has been invited to exhibit her Body of Work ‘Defining Ups and Down: a simple and beautiful relationship between my brother and I' in ArtExpress 2021 at the Gallery of New South Wales and Grafton Regional Gallery. Bethany’s artist statement: ... My work reveals the highly personal nature of my relationship between my brother and I through multilayered, subtly communicated images. My intent was to captivate the audience’s emotional response by inviting them to witness intimate moments between us. I incorporate definition associations to illustrate that one cannot exist without the other and use my title to question the stereotypes associated with Downs Syndrome; revealing a far more complex reality. Referencing elements of Rene Magritte’s practice I visually provoke the discussion of societal conversations around disability. Well done Bethany!

18.01.2022 Last week, Year 10 students participated in Australian Business Week (ABW). Working in small groups, students engaged in a virtual world of business for the week assuming management roles to run a company and making important business decisions as they competed against other participating teams. Each student in a team was assigned various roles within a manufacturing business and over the five days they were required to manage a business through a computer simulation, learn... from guest speakers from business and the community, develop a new product of their own design, create a media campaign and trade displays to advertise their product and present a verbal and written report of the week’s activities. The ABW program is designed to encourage independent and co-operative learning skills and to develop an enterprise mindset prior to entering the workforce or proceeding to further study. Through the business simulation, students develop skills across many curriculum areas including: Commerce, Mathematics, English, Design and Technology, Computer Studies and Visual Arts.

16.01.2022 After months of waiting, due to COVID-19, we were finally able to commence our Bronze Adventurous Journeys. Over the past two weekends, our students had the opp...ortunity to paddle on the beautiful Colo River and take part in a variety of camping activities including tent building, cooking, learning how to navigate and developing new friendships, while being COVID safe. Our students enjoyed this chance to experience something new, and while challenging at times they all did a wonderful job in completing their journey. Congratulations everyone and looking forward to our next adventure soon. DukeofEd Aus Northholm Grammar School See more

10.01.2022 Lat week ended on such a high note for Year Seven students, who set off to explore the wilds of their Northholm ‘backyard’ - Berowra Waters. 03.01.2022 This week, Year Ten students continued to refine their leadership and teamwork skills, hosting the Year Ten Health Expo. This day was the culmination of a great deal of work from PDHPE students throughout Term Three. In PDHPE students were asked to select health issues that were important to them and work collaboratively to present a stall that would engage and excite our community with the aim of connecting and educating our community about the selected health issue. During... the Health Expo, we were joined by community organisations Melanoma Institute Australia, Cancer Council NSW, Red Frogs Australia, DanceWize, NSW Police Force, Cell to Soul and DonateLife. A special thank you to Jay Allen, the The Melanoma Man for sharing your journey and messages for sun safety with our community. Year Seven to Nine students engaged meaningfully in the stalls, and asked lots of great questions. Congratulations again to Year Ten for their exceptional leadership on this task.
