23.01.2022 Every day in Australia, around 65 women are told they have breast or a gynaecological cancer. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it's the perfect time to show your support for those effected by these diagnoses as well as the organisations which provide invaluable support during such a difficult time. You can find out ways to get involved here: http://www.pinkupoctober.com.au/... #pinktober #pinkoctober #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

20.01.2022 At Family Doctor, your health is our priority and it should be yours too! It is a lifelong investment, so we should take care of it in the best possible way.

19.01.2022 With lockdowns having been in place for the majority of the year, many patients have cancelled or missed their yearly check-up. As we are safely conducting face-to-face appointments again, this is a reminder to book in or re-book your yearly check-up. It's important that even with everything going on, you put your health first. #dontwaitmate

17.01.2022 According to Healthdirect, 4 in 10 Australian adults don't get enough sleep and feel tired as a result. Many of us also think that we're getting enough sleep but don't realise that we're not getting quality sleep which means that we still feel tired. So what is quality sleep? According to the Sleep Foundation, the key determinants of quality sleep are:... - Sleeping more time while in bed (at least 85 percent of the total time) - Falling asleep in 30 minutes or less - Waking up no more than once per night; and - Being awake for 20 minutes or less after initially falling asleep. Some ways of making sure that you get a good night of quality sleep include optimising your bedroom, not eating late at night and reassessing your alcohol intake. You can see more ways to get better sleep here: https://www.healthline.com/nutriti/17-tips-to-sleep-better If sleep is an issue for you, talk to one our GPs, they can help. #qualitysleep #selfcare #yourfamilydoctor

16.01.2022 We're here for even the most uncomfortable questions. Our GPs take your privacy very seriously and work hard to always be approachable. There are no stupid questions when it comes to your health and no matter how uncomfortable you may find it, the chances are that we've heard it before!... Instead of putting it off, talk to your GP about it.

15.01.2022 Keep a dedicated work space. To increase productivity and make sure that you maintain separation between your personal and work life, create a space which is solely dedicated to working. This will reduce distractions and help you to get some emotional distance from your work. #workfromhome #takecareofyourself #tips

14.01.2022 Stay positive and live positively! Have a wonderful weekend.

12.01.2022 When was the last time you enjoyed a good book? Reading is proven to improve brain connectivity and fight depression symptoms, but it seems to be getting less common to pick up a book. Let's make it popular again. Instead of watching TV or a movie, let's read a book!... #letsreadmore #knowledgeispower #readmorebooks

12.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? When we sleep, cerebral spinal fluid flows through the brain and removes brain cell waste that includes amyloid beta protein. This flow occurs only when we sleep. An amyloid beta protein build up can be involved in getting Alzheimer's Disease.... This just gives us another reason to ensure that we get enough sleep! #sleepwell

11.01.2022 According to science, our tongue is the strongest muscle in our body despite it being small in size. This teaches us a valuable lesson on how powerful our words can be and reminds us how we can forget the power of those words. Express positive and kind thoughts to people you talk to in the store, in the restaurants, or anywhere. Help someone to be comforted and share positivity!

11.01.2022 It can be hard when we don't hear what we wanted to hear or get the results that we were hoping for. If you need to talk, we're here for you. Not only do our GPs care about you but they can also organise 20 Medicare subsidised visits to a psychologist under a GP plan. Book in your appointment online #dontwaitmate

09.01.2022 Working from home for a long period of time can start to feel draining and unsatisfying. Instead of letting the days drag by, make the most of not having a morning commute by getting started on your to-do list early. You'll feel much more productive and cheerful about work!... #wfh #tips #lifehack

08.01.2022 It's time for work from home bingo! How many of these can you cross off?

Take a moment to reach out and show your appreciation for those who offer care, especially in these more difficult times. #carersweek #carers2020 #whywecare

04.01.2022 Nurses provide care in Australia every day across every healthcare setting. Never has the vital role of nurses, in the provision of healthcare in this country, been on greater display than over the last six months as our nation responded to major public health emergencies, including COVID-19. Today is International Nurses Day (IND) and an opportunity to celebrate our nursing professionals! Thank you to all the nurses who work hard to improve everyone's quality of life!... #internationalnuresesday #IND #nursingaustralia

03.01.2022 There’s always a debate around this time of year as to whether or not we should make New Year's Resolutions. Instead of turning it into a guilt trip for what we haven't done, this year take note of what has gone well and what you have achieved. From that, decide where you want to be in the next 12 months and what else you want to achieve. You can't get anywhere if you've got no where to go, nor can you keep track what you have achieved if there's nothing positive to compare... it to. Let's have a great year!

02.01.2022 Burnout or emotional exhaustion is a state of emotional and physical exhaustion stemming from any of the stressors from life. 01.01.2022 As of May there were nearly 100,000 fewer GP visits. By December that number is expected to be much larger which is highly concerning. It's very important that you don't miss an appointment or hold off making an appointment because of COVID-19. We are safely conducting face-to-face appointments therefore there is no reason to hold off. Please book in to see your GP. #dontwaitmate

01.01.2022 Isolation, loneliness and disconnection are common problems when working from home. Many workplaces are offering new socialising opportunities for employees working from home to ensure that everyone feels connected and part of the team. If your workplace doesn't offer socialisation opportunities, suggest starting a virtual Friday drinks or the implementation of a messaging app such as Slack or Teams to keep in touch with your colleagues. This will ensure better opportunities ...to make sure everyone feels connected and part of the team which in turn increases moral and efficiency. It's a win-win situation! #workfromhome #tips #takecareofyou
