03.01.2022 Important Changes to Chiropractic Care (as of 6th August) We are open but with a few changes. Overnight, there were amendments to the Guide for Businesses in Stage 4 restrictions. These were updated with the approval of the Victorian Chief Medical Officer. Chiropractors (and all Allied Health Practitioners) are permitted to remain open but with 2 main amendments:... 1. Routine services are NOT permitted 2. Care must ONLY be provided if the absence of, or delay of this care, would result in a significant change/deterioration in the patient’s functional independence necessitating escalation of care. Examples provided by the DHHS of when it is appropriate for care to be provided to a patient include the following: 1. To avoid a requirement for specialist input/review 2. To avoid an increase in care needs 3. To avoid a hospital admission or emergency department presentation If you currently have an appointment booked we will be in contact with you over the next few days to reschedule your appointment for September, when the Stage 4 restrictions have lifted (unless you meet one of the above criteria). Please note that due to these restrictions we will be working condensed operating hours. Despite some recent commentary you DO NOT require a referral from a medical practitioner to see a Chiropractor. Please know that if your symptoms change and your condition is worsening, do not hesitate to contact us. We are always here to help.
