23.01.2022 Fathering Adventures is running a Father and son/daughter camp in May / mid June on Magnetic Island. Darren Lewis is passionate about building relationships between parents and kids. I highly recommend this program. Check it out on his website. But this is what he posted this morning If you have a son or a daughter, aged 7-13 years inclusive, then would you be interested in joining Melissa and I / Fathering Adventures, for one of our guided "Fathering Boys" Father-Son or guided "Fathering Girls" Father-Daughter Weekend experiences on Magnetic Island, off the coast of Townsville, in Tropical North QLD, in late May or mid June this year? 19.01.2022 WE ARE SO EXCITED KIDS CHURCH IS GOING BACK!!! Due to continual COVID restrictions, Kids Church will return but with a staggered launch for different aged ch...ildren. October 11th Grade 1-6 return (Babies, Preschool and Prep children will remain with their parents) Kids will sign into church WITH their parents at the front entrance and receive their name tags there. They will remain with their parents in the auditorium until they are dismissed for Kids Church. At this point the Kids will leave out the side entrance of the church with our Kids Crew team and the Adult Leaders. Parents will be able to collect any children who do NOT have a WAIVER FORM filled out from the Orange Room glass doors (there will be a sign showing you where). October 25th - It is our aim to have the Ages 3 Prep children return by the 25th of October. This age group offers additional challenges due to COVID restrictions. Can’t wait to start up again! See you then!

18.01.2022 Dear Kids and Parents Life is full of choices and sometimes we don’t always make good choices. This week each group will be looking at choices differently. Our little ones will look at how we can make a good choice and use our mouths to worship God. Our Grade 1-3 kids will be talking about how to make these wise choices and finally our older kids will explore how we often say life isn’t fair when we know we should make choices that honour God. 12.01.2022 Dear Parents and Kids As a church we are entering into Stage 2 in our journey of getting back together. In this stage we begin by gathering together in Northreach Community Gatherings (up to 20 people). Staff have been working really hard to put our families into these groups. We want to encourage our families to gather once again and you should be contacted this week to join one of these groups. However, there will be people we have missed so we REALLY WANT you to contact us... as soon as possible to let us know so we can get you connected. Attached is the Northreach Road Map infographic to help you understand the stages of regathering. This week we are looking more closely at our walk with Jesus. The older kids will be challenged to ask questions about their faith. As your children move into their teen years, they will begin to ask more questions about why they believe what they do and I want to encourage families that this is very natural and very important. When children are young they accept their parents faith as they grow older they need to own their own faith. I have included some link to some great resources for you to read on this subject. Our Kiddliwink and LilK kids will be revisiting last weeks lesson but this week I have attached a colouring in page for them. 06.01.2022 Hey Kids and Parents This week kids get to go back to school - how exciting!!!!! I am looking forward to the day that we can go back to church. It is hard to believe that we are now at Week 10 of not being able to meet together. I had my daughter in my car this week as I dropped by the church to pick something up. She said "Mum, can I just come in with you - I have missed church so much". Sometimes we don't really know how precious something is until it is gone and then we ha...ve this emptiness in our lives like something is missing. Life has many great times and many not so great times but no matter what obstacles get in our way we need to learn to trust Jesus. Today, I have attached a really cool obstacle course you can do as a family to learn more about trust. You know the Bible says to "Trust God with ALL your heart and not to lean on your own understanding" Proverbs 3:5-6. We need to remember that God can see the whole picture of our life as He guides us through, we can only see whats in front of us. 03.01.2022 Kids Church is returning on the 11th October for Grade 1-6 and our age 3-Prep will commence on the 25th October. Pre Register this Sunday (4th October) in the main foyer of the church. On the 11th October, ALL REGISTRATIONS and signing in for Kids church will be in the foyer. Children will go with their parents for the worship time of the service and then will be dismissed during the sermon. Any queries, please don't hesitate to call our church office on 47232371.

02.01.2022 Hi Families! Being in this strange season has caused some deep thinking on my part. Before Covid 19 I remember being really busy and I remember my children saying how busy they were. I have so many thoughts whirling around in my head that sometimes prayer becomes very difficult. The Bible encourages us to stop and get away from the business and to find a quiet place to take time with him. In the Gospel of Luke when Jesus’ ministry was so incredibly busy, meeting with people, ...healing people Luke records that Jesus stopped and withdrew into the wilderness to spend time with God. Today I want to encourage you to take time away from all the business and be quiet in God’s presence. I have attached two separate crafts for the kids to do. One for the younger ones, teaching them they can pray anywhere and one for the older ones, teaching then how to be specific in their prayers. Avant Covid 19, je me souviens avoir été très occupée et je me souviens que mes enfants avaient dit à quel point ils étaient occupés. J'ai tellement de pensées tourbillonnant dans ma tête que parfois la prière devient très difficile. La Bible nous encourage à nous arrêter et à nous éloigner de l'entreprise et à trouver un endroit calme pour prendre du temps avec lui. Dans l'Évangile de Luc, lorsque le ministère de Jésus était si incroyablement occupé, à rencontrer des gens, à guérir les gens - Luc rapporte que Jésus s'est arrêté et s'est retiré dans le désert pour passer du temps avec Dieu. Aujourd'hui, je veux vous encourager à prendre du temps loin de toutes les affaires et à vous taire en présence de Dieu. J'ai attaché deux métiers séparés pour les enfants à faire. Un pour les plus jeunes, leur apprenant qu'ils peuvent prier n'importe où et un pour les plus âgés, leur enseignant ensuite comment être précis dans leurs prières.
