22.01.2022 Congratulations to our Year 12 students who have almost completed their Certificate II in Active Volunteering! The Year 12's have loved this course and Mikayla has shared her story on doing this qualification that is again being offered next year. North Rockhampton State High School’s Volunteer Course by Mikayla Patterson Amidst all the chaos and unpredictability this year has brought North Rockhampton State High School has been doing the best it can to give back to its comm...unity through its Certificate II in Active Volunteering Course. This course has provided the school’s Year 12 seniors with a unique opportunity to help their community and to learn many important life lessons and skills that they can take with them as they leave high school. And even though the students disliked having to complete the theory side of the course, it was clear to see how much they all enjoyed and adored the practical side of going to a local primary school and providing their assistance wherever they could. For the entirety of term three this year, North Rocky’s year 12s went to the nearby, local primary school Berserker Street State School and experienced things such as their first ever induction process, helping teachers out in classrooms and working in the primary school’s garden and library.
