25.01.2022 Construction has now commenced on the Roger Gregory Playground at Goodin Road, Baulkham Hills. On completion, this playground will be a great new addition to the Baulkham Hills pocket of North Rocks Ward.

23.01.2022 Council has placed the following proposal on public exhibition, seeking to align the rate paths across the five parts of the former Councils that now make up the City of Parramatta. For residents and businesses within the former Hills Council area (Carlingford, North Rocks and Northmead), your rates may see an increase under this proposal. 22.01.2022 Preparation works for the second stage of our Woodstock Road Carlingford project commence next week! A new beaut playground will be built closer to Woodstock Road near the car park, complimenting the current works to upgrade of the shopping strip streetscape.

21.01.2022 Great to see works progressing on the upgrade to the Chisholm Centre at Winston Hills. Enhancing our local centres is the key to supporting small business and encouraging our community to make greater use of local shops and services.

20.01.2022 Fantastic to hear that the NSW Government will fast-track the delivery of commuter parking in North Rocks as part of its $3Billion Infrastructure and Job Acceleration Fund. An EOI has been launched for construction companies who are keen to be part of the program. Additional capacity at Perry Street, North Rocks on land formerly occupied by the Northconnex construction and M2 widening will be a win for local bus commuters and help to shift parking off some of our back streets.

Owing to Covid restrictions we have had to say no to this wonderful night of Christmas entertainment. Crowd control and registrations will prove too big a job for us so our minds were made up for us.The Rotary Club of North Rocks would like to thank you all for your support in years gone by. Just a reminder that our Chri...stmas Tree of Joy is up and running at the North Rocks Shopping Centre. The idea of the Christmas tree is to select a gift tag from the tree, purchase the gift and then return it to the centre where we will collect them and Santa them off to children less fortunate so that they will have something on Christmas morning. We have been doing this activity for many years and have found our community to be most generous. These gifts no matter how big or small will put a smile on the dial of a child who may not have received anything. Thank you for you help and kind donations in the past, now and in the future. 14.01.2022 Glad to hear that the Sydney Central Planning Panel has once again rejected this proposal for the former Bus Depot site at Murray Farm Road, Carlingford. Today, Im calling upon the owners, who have now twice failed to put together a DA that complies with planning controls, to enter into discussions with Transport for NSW for its sale and use as a commuter parking site.

12.01.2022 Construction works to build the new Roger Gregory Playground at Goodin Road, Winston Hills will commence on Monday July 27. The new playground includes: a nature play area;... climbing totems; sandstone boulder; multi play unit; swing set and spinner; seating; shade tree plantings; and a new footpath connection Roger Gregory was a long term resident of Winston Hills and served Parramatta City Council as a representative of the former Caroline Chisholm Ward for many years. He passed away at the age of 70 in 2015.

10.01.2022 Fantastic to have visited the Chisholm Centre in Winston Hills on Tuesday morning with the Lord Mayor to see the finished upgrade of this famous local shopping strip. Council has been making a significant effort to upgrade and support the importance of local community shops in these difficult times and its great to know that these improvements have been welcomed by the small business community and residents of Winston Hills.

07.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone! Some good news to end the week for our local residents who traverse North Rocks and Alkira Roads at Carlingford. On Monday night, Council awarded the tender to widen this intersection, relocate utility services, create a new westbound dedicated right turn lane and to install much needed traffic lights.... Works are set to commence in January and we look forward to delivering a safer journey to work, school, sports and home. Have a great weekend!

05.01.2022 Fantastic to see common sense prevail tonight at Council. The motion from Labor Councillors Davis and Pandey to make it harder for residents across the North Rocks Ward to take appropriate measures to trim or remove problem trees on their property has been rescinded and defeated. The successful rescission was supported by the Lord Mayor, Clr Jefferies, Clr Tyrrell, Clr Zaiter, Clr Issa, Clr Wilson and the Deputy Lord Mayor. Labor, Greens, Clr Wearne and Ben Barrak voted against the rescission.

02.01.2022 Comments on the draft LEP are now being sought and most residents across the North Rocks Ward will receive a notice letter in the mail this week. The LEP seeks to make a number of subtle changes, in particular for residents living in Carlingford, North Rocks and Northmead in the former The Hills Council area, to protect the majority, low density residential character in these areas. This means that dual occupancy duplexes would no longer be permitted in the R2 residential zo...ned land, a maximum floor space ratio of 0.5:1 to be applied for new housing (knockdown rebuilds) and the retention of the minimum lot size of 700sq metres across the former Hills area suburbs (550sq metres elsewhere within the City of Parramatta LGA). Submissions can be made up until 5pm Monday October 12 and further information may be found on councils website - www.cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au/planningharmonisation
