14.01.2022 Welcome to the Sunday Markets today on Mother's Day. We have a variety of stalls today. Come one, come all.

14.01.2022 2020 has been a year of turmoil and great disruption for many people due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Workplaces closed. Livelihoods lost. Families, friends and communities physically separated. Stress in households increased leading to a marked increase in Domestic Violence.... And yet we search out different ways to connect with each other and support people in our community who are "doing it tough". What better way than a virtual art show ? The Rotary Club of Carlingford are very pleased to present the inaugural Carlingford Community Art Show. A platform for artists to showcase their talents, art lovers to browse through the gallery, and to hopefully purchase some unique original art works for their own enjoyment or as gifts for family and friends ! We also use this platform to raise awareness of Domestic Violence in our community. Proceeds of the art show will be donated to two very worthy beneficiaries - Parramatta Mission who provide amazing support for men and women caught in domestic violence situations, and Grace's Place - a world first residential trauma recovery centre for children affected by homicide. Celebrated Australian artist Ken Done OAM will be judging our inaugural Art Show - so artists please get ready - entries are now open !

Thanks to Bunnings Carlingford we have two free worm-farming starter kits (worth $50 each) to give away at our special presentations on worm farming and composting. Plus the community stall this week will be selling face masks and other items to raise money for Days for Girls Australia, as well as our regular market with great plants for your garden, books, records, toys, clothing and jeweller...y, produce and other bargains. I'm sure there were even Christmas decorations there last week ! The market will be open Sunday morning from 7.30am - 1pm. Bring the family, bring your dog ! COVID Safety plan in operation. Please enter the Art Show.. please buy a unique original Artwork once they go on sale ! https://carlingfordcommunityartshow.com.au/ The proceeds from this Art Show are being donated to two organisations who are providing practical support. Parramatta Mission provides support services to both women and families who are experiencing domestic and family violence. Grace's Place is a world-first residential trauma recovery centre for children affected by homicide of a family member, which is to be constructed at Doonside in Western Sydney.
