12.01.2022 Dear Hills Football Community, Its with a broken heart and tears in my eyes that I inform you of the tragic loss of one of our Players, Luke Gardoni. Below is ...the heartfelt message from Castle Hill United FC President. ------ It is with great sadness that I inform you of the tragic loss of our Premier League player, Luke Gardoni. Taken too soon, this is a sobering reminder of how fleeting life can be. Please see the statement below. With respect to the Gardoni family and in memory of Lukes love of life and football, we ask that senior teams across the association observe a one minute silence prior to game kick-off, and we encourage all club members across our association to symbolise this tragedy by wearing black armband during this weeks round. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gardoni family at this most difficult time. Marc Vujnovich President ---- Vale Luke Gardoni On Saturday 15th August, while representing the CHUFC Premier League, Luke suffered a devastating cardiac arrest. Luke was treated on-field by no less than 6 paramedics, supported by NSW Police. The efforts of those who assisted on scene was outstanding and will be forever admired. After a long-fought battle in hospital, on Thursday 20th August, Luke passed away surrounded by his adoring family. Luke was 21 years old. Lukes football career started in 2004 at Castle Hill United, where he continued to play until 2009. In 2020, he returned to CHUFC to play with some of his long-time football mates. Quietly spoken, with a reserved nature, Luke was quick to ignite friendships, and very quickly became a highly valued member of the squad. We will be forever honoured that we played a part in his football career, at the very start, and at the very end. Our thoughts and condolences are with Lukes parents Andrew and Michelle, sister Alicia and brother Aaron. --------

04.01.2022 Games at Hills Grammar School If you are playing any games at Hill Grammar School they have implemented new guidelines to those attending. Please read below. Dear visitors... On arrival at Hills Grammar on Saturday can I please ask that you park in the car park on the left hand side as you drive in. Where possible only immediate family should be accompanying your child, please proceed to the boom gate where a registration table will be set up. Here you will be asked to use the camera on your phone to scan across the QR code. This QR code will take you to a link where you will be asked to record your details. There will be a number of QR codes placed around the table on the fence where people can scan to avoid having to cue up and allowing you to physical distance. For those unable to scan the QR code there will be a folder where you can manually record your contact details. Please note that our grand stand will be closed off to the public and we ask that spectators space themselves around the field that your child is playing on. Please use the hand sanitizer on arrival and at the completion of the match please look to leave the venue as quickly as possible. There will be no canteen facilities available at the ground. 02.01.2022 North Rocks Premier League Report Round 1 v Baulkham Hills @ Eric Mobbs Reserve Finally the season got underway underneath beautiful blue skies and the only dampener on the season opener is that the PL had to go forgo their home ground advantage. Home base for PL this year is Murray Farm Reserve which unfortunately was not ready for the occasion.... Ressies got the season going with a strong 3-1 win against the Kookas. Goals to Captain Joe and Scaz both from the penalty spot. The penalties won by the relentless pressing and pressure on the Kookas. A third goal before half time was the result of a towering header by young gun Pat Hollins in his debut for the club. Goals Joe NG Alex Scaron Pat Hollins First grade saw the lads win a thriller 2-1 with a worldie scored by debutant Thomas Pearson. Baulko opened the scoring from the spot after a foul on the opposition striker brought him down in the box. Calmly slotted home. 0-1 to the Kookas at oranges. The second half saw more chances spurned by both sides when in the 75th minute a foul by Baulko in the box saw Rocks awarded their 3rd penalty in the two games (Baulko had 2 as well) Jay stepped up to spot and saw the shot saved by the BH keeper only to see the flag raised by the AR for the keeper moving off the line before the strike, resulting in a retake. Jay took the penalty again and this time made no mistakes. 1-1 with 13 to go. Rocks for the next 12 mins or so pressed and pressed and then with a min to go in time added on, were rewarded when Tom took the ball 40 metres out and spotting the keeper of his line, sent the ball over his head into the back of the net. What a way to win the game. A good tight contest and one the lads will learn a lot from. Goals Jay Pandya Thomas Pearson Next week we travel to the bush and take on Kenthurst in what will be a real challenge for this squad. One I am sure will be tackled with the emotions and gutso the lads have so far shown in training and round 1. ROCKS ROCKS ROCKS Footnote.
