19.01.2022 TOP TIP: Decorating with Rugs - place your floor rug under the sofa and not in front of it. Sure there are times when its appropriate to place a rug just under the coffee table, but not often. Frame the space by placing the rug at least half the depth of the sofa and ideally half a metre on each side, particularly if you are introducing a side table. Well, here goes...Last night I visited in the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Kitchen on Madison Ave in NYC and it certainly didn't disappoint. For anyone who has lived or frequented the USA it's unique style will be familiar to you and may even excite you. I shared these images with an Australian friend visiting NY and she felt it didn't translate comfortably to our Australian designed kitchens. What are your thoughts? In any event, once the Show House finishes at the EOM, the kitchen will be removed and sold for $139,000...

At this years International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC, Tom Dixon featured heavily in his reflective metals, only this year re-releasing many of his best-selling products in copper and bronze.

01.01.2022 A delicious dinner, decor and company... took my nephew to the very chic (though 'chic' doesn't even begin to describe it...), Buddakan restaurant in Chelsea, NY. It was so gorgeous, it would have been moi-uncool to snap some shots on my iPhone...naturally I snuck one or two but decided I'd just enjoy dinner and download them from the internet later to show you the sophistication of the decor. So far as the food was concerned, BEST EVER. Twenty-one year old Jake ordered the Spring Rolls and dim dims for appetisers and even they were out of this world! I did encourage a more adventurous selection for mains which did not disappoint. By the time dessert came around...you guessed it - SPECTACULAR!!!
