23.01.2022 Meet the Seagull - Tizza

22.01.2022 Season 20/21 7 NOVEMBER - Round 1 It was a fantastic day, being back at cricket and seeing some hype around the club. ... The 1st XI hosted Corio in a very short game at our home ground. Bowling first T.Thompson started well bowling stumps on the 3rd ball of the 1st over. He followed up with a further 3 wickets finishing on 4 /10. J.Larkins cleaned up the remaining wickets 5/4 and Corio were all out for 14 runs. Opening batsman B.Potter made 23 out of 26 runs accompanied by Tizz who looked solid at the other end. The 2nd XI played Bell Park at BPH Myers Reserve. After winning the toss, we chose to bowl first and bowled Bell Park out 9/119. Wicket takers were: T. Edwards 2/30, R.Wills 1/9, .Stringer 1/24, A. Brogden 1/20, D. Garner 1/18. After a few miss fields, our fielding improved and we worked together as a team. After break, we went into bat and made 8/123 off 36 overs. It was touch and go for a bit but the boys got over the line. A. Ford top scored with 33 NO Followed by A.Brogden 14, G. Williams on 10. Well done Seagulls. What a great way to start the season.

21.01.2022 Please see following from GCA... As you may have heard, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has added the MCG as a possible corona virus acquisition site specifically being day 2 (Dec 27) of the recent Boxing Day Test and encompassing Zone 5 in the Great Southern Stand. ... In order to ensure that the 20/21 season continues as planned, any GCA cricketer or constituent club member who attended the MCG on day 2 and were in Zone 5: must immediately take steps to ensure that they do not attend their club for training or socialising; and please get tested and self-isolate until you receive a negative result. A Melbourne Cricket Club spokesperson has publicly advised that patrons were in Zone 5 of the MCG if they entered the Great Southern Stand through gates 5 or 6, and Zone 5 comprised the following sections (and these would have been listed on the match day ticket for day two): M16 to M27, N16 to N28, P15 to P28, Q15 to Q28 and corporate suites 27-54 Jolimont Club. Details of the DHHS advice regarding the MCG are set out below (and please visit the DHHS corona virus website Department of Health and Human Services Victoria | Coronavirus (COVID-19) (dhhs.vic.gov.au) if you require further information). Start Quote DHHS Advice: MCG Possible acquisition site If you attended the MCG on Dec 27, seated in The Great Southern Stand, Zone 5, between 12.30pm - 3.30pm, you must get tested & self-quarantine until you get a negative result. Details for the seating in Zone 5 are available at the MCG website. The MCG is being investigated as a potential source for acquisition. This means we have a confirmed case of coronavirus who was not infectious but that we believe may have acquired their infection at this location. If you were at these locations during these times, please get tested and self-isolate until you receive a negative result. This will help us track the source of the virus and stop its spread. 19.01.2022 The 2s were at home taking on the Lara cricket club yesterday hoping to capitalise on their previous weeks effort and win 2 in a row. AND what a job they did! Bowling first they restricted the opposition to 93 with a bowling effort to extremely proud of! Captain Rick Wills leading from the front with 6 overs 2-9! Harry Short backing last weeks effort with 0-10 off 6 overs. Andrew Brogden 7 overs 2-18. Tyler Edwards 3-9 off 4.5 and a returning Dean Garner 2-25. The run chase w...as set up by Mr Consistent Luke Harris who backed up his 44 last week with.....44! Rick Wills finished off a man of the match performance with 26 to see the Seagulls pass the score only 3 down. Both sides did the club proud to head into the christmas break in strong positions and the on field success has all the players walking around that little bit taller. BUT let's not forget we are club and just as important as wins are, alot of work goes into a cricket season off the field too! So from the players,we would like to thank the people that make it possible to enjoy amazing nights like last night and all the little things that you think go unnoticed. 18.01.2022 Looking to get back on the winners list, the Seagulls took on St. Josephs at Windsor Park. After being sent in to bat we made a well put together 157 on very big and slow ground. Tizza opened the batting and anchored the innings by batting for over 30 overs and equal top scoring with 32. Josh Lansbury-Lowe made a quickfire 32 and there was several scores in the 20s to cap off an excellent day with the bat. St Josephs made a slow start with Timmy doing some damage to batting eq...uipment and body parts. Tight bowling, excellent fielding and some inspired bowling changes restricted the opposition to 79 runs. Huge congratulations to Zach Wills for his 5 wicket haul today. It was an incredible display of from him and one the whole team enjoyed being part of. Great feeling around the 1s team and great win today. Looking forward to next week and another win, against someone? maybe at home, maybe away? Get around the Seagulls See more

14.01.2022 Seagulls travelled out to Teesdale today to play on a haunted cricket ground. Bowling 1st we did extremely well restricting the reigning premiers to 120 odd. Pick of the bowlers was Zach Wills who bowled like a machine and should be very proud of himself. Rest of the bowling was very good, reflected in their score. Then we batted. Fair to say it wasn't our best performance and definately doesn't represent what we are capable of. Next week is a new game and we will attack it head on. Get Around the Seagulls

13.01.2022 It was a great day at the club yesterday started off by both teams having wins going into the Christmas break. We then had our Christmas Party and Presentation night of last seasons awards. Thanks to everyone who contributed yesterday to such a wonderful event, including @consciouscatering for their amazing grazing box, @snapthatphotoboothhire and of course special guest @santa ... We'd also like to thank Honka who was down at the club the week before to present our Coach Justin Larkins with the Lionel Honka Harvey award from last season. We hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all on the other side of the break.

12.01.2022 CRICKET IS BACK and so is training, but things will look a little different this year. Our 1st training session is this Thursday 1st October 5 - 7pm in groups of 10. To ensure everyone knows what to expect this season and what is expected of them we will have someone come around to each group to run through the training and playing guidelines for the 20/21 season.... Please get in touch with Larko and Langa so they can gauge numbers and ensure we can accomodate everyone. If you cant make it, please drop us a message with your email address so we can pass on the information you will need. We will be asking everyone at training to scan a QR code which most phones will scan but if you are not sure please download a free QR code scanner before attending training. Heres to an awesome season ahead. Go Seagulls!!!

11.01.2022 The 2s were at home this week also against Teesdale. After a fantastic start,we did a great job to restrict them to 137. No ball was heard around the ground a bit apparently? A few spilled chances, apart from Robs Shell Ultra classic catch! Stringer 3,Tyler 4,Broggo and Deano 2 each did a great job with the ball. Then we batted. Stringer and Tyler completed solid all round performances but ultimately we fell short making 69. We'll be back. Lotsa positives from a disappointing day. Get around the Seagulls

03.01.2022 The 2s travelled out to Anakie looking for a win today. After a good start with the ball and in the field,Anakie made a solid 186. The North Shore run chase had a few run outs which never helps and unfortunately we could only manage 70 runs in reply. Great all round performance from Andrew Brogden with 1 for 7 and 22 runs. 02.01.2022 Yesterday was a great day for the North Shore Seagulls cricket club. The 1s headed up to Bell Post Hill and lost the toss which had us bowling first on a fast, small ground. The term"team effort" gets used alot, but yesterday it was truly earned. The opposition finished their 40 overs on 8 for 89. Tim Thompson 8 overs 3-25 Justin Larkins 8 overs 2-18 Zach Wills 5 overs 0-2... Casey Knight 7 overs 0-17 Cam MacBryde 7 overs 2-13 Jesse Hargraves 5 overs 1-7 All the bowlers used bowled excellent lines which is proved by the fact we never had a fine leg at all during the innings. Josh Lansbury-Lowe had a stellar day behind the stumps including a brilliant catch up to the stumps off an excessive celebrating Cam MacBryde. The batting side of the game was probably less of a team effort! Taking only 15 overs to achieve the target without losing a wicket. Tyrone McNamara continued his impressive season with the bat finishing on 20 no. The star of the innings again though was James Beasley who recovered enough from his innings break preparation to score his 3rd consecutive half century to finish on 66 no. Excellent first of the season to head to the break 6-1. Lot's of work to do,but we are very determined to keep moving forward. Get around the Seagulls See more
