25.01.2022 Its on this afternoon, come along. Hope to see you there.

22.01.2022 Now that we have worked out how to do what were doing, I am really enjoying the very different way were doing church online. Not that I would choose it over gathering together, but it gives us a chance to engage with people beyond our normal space. Our weekly services are 9am Sunday at https://northsideseaforth.org.au/live-feed/ but there you will also find our services fro 24 May and 17 May as video on demand (obviously free to watch). If you have been connecting with us on Sunday mornings, drop us a comment here and tell us how youre finding it.

21.01.2022 What a journey it has been since we had to evacuate our church building back in March! I count 25 church services from Northside Mackay led entirely online in that time. We also went through 15 sessions of Alpha online, and 12 sessions of Youth Alpha online. What a journey it has been! But this Sunday is the last one, unless another wave of COVID-19 comes our way. On Sunday 6 September we return to our church building, and what a celebration it will be! While there will still be lots of restrictions still in place, we wont have a problem with numbers. We will find ways to celebrate being together to worship God. Restrictions wont stop us! Spread the word!

21.01.2022 Just some comments about this awkward phase we're in right now: 1. Restrictions are easing, but we look at Victoria and most of the world and realise it may all be wishful thinking. 2. Many churches are returning to their buildings, especially small churches where compliance with all the rules is easy. 3. In churches with over 50 people, and moderate to large buildings, there is a lot of work to do to be able to return safely and within the rules. 4. It is now about 3.5 month...s since church gatherings went online. Most of us would prefer to be back. Now my comment for us at Northside Mackay Uniting. We are planning our way back, but it is difficult (as explained above), plus there is the uncertainty that it will last (also explained above). There is a growing impatience to be back - I hear it and I feel it myself. The problem is, that this isn't going to make the return any quicker. We simply can't get back until everything is in order, and that requires volunteers and quite a lot of work. So my request is - if you feel the impatience rising, please get behind what we continue to do online, in the knowledge that we will be back as soon as we can manage it. We're moving as fast as the present workload and volunteer availability makes possible. In the meantime, there are some positive stories emerging from the time online. While I can't (yet) tell those, because they're not mine to tell, it should be encouragement that this is not lost time, but a time of different opportunities. Embrace it, because hopefully once it is gone, it will not return. God's blessings to you. Rev Wayne

07.01.2022 The lights have been turned on, come down and a look

04.01.2022 ** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT** Effective immediately, church services at Northside Mackay Uniting Church and Seaforth Uniting Church buildings are cancelled. Our church services will continue at 9am every Sunday morning, streamed online. Information will be available very soon about the final public browser address of that live stream. The novel CoronaVirus (COVID-19) is causing enormous trouble the world over, as each country tries to at least slow its spread. Even better wo...uld be to see it stop. All gathered activities that can be stopped, are being stopped, as we work together to achieve this. Work that can be taken home is being taken home. Essential services, the chief of which are health services, remain as normal. For now, schools remain as normal but only within their properties. In this time when so many are (willingly or unwillingly) sacrificing (and sometimes losing) so much, churches need to also swallow the bitter pill of joining the lockdown to minimise the spread of the virus. We will have to engage differently, and we will. Please keep your love for God and neighbour at the front of your mind throughout this ordeal. Know that you are not alone, even whle you cannot see those who are with you and for you. God is still with us, and that will not change. Blessings - Rev Wayne.

04.01.2022 Come join us on Christmas Day. All welcome at 8am.

03.01.2022 Well, here is something I never wanted to do - I have self-published a book! Titled "God IS Real: a journey with miracles", its primary purpose is to describe miracles and experiences of God that I have had, or have been involved in. My thanks to the people who have given permission for their story to be told using their true first name. In the coming days the eBook will be available on Kindle, Kobo eReader and NOOK eReader (Barnes & Noble). It is also available from my My...MIDI Worship Resources website. In all of these places it is free, except Kindle where it is available for the minimum permitted price of $0.99. I have also setup a discussion website (you have to register to contribute). The miracles stories are also repeated on that website, but at present the rest of the book is not. I will post here when I get confirmation that the latest published version is available on Kindle, Kobo and NOOK - in each case it is published but not yet passed through their processes into the public store. For computer based reading (A4 PDF or eBook app) you can use the "purchase" (free) process here - https://mymidi.audio//ebook-god-is-real-a-journey-with-mi/ For discussion, visit here - https://miracles.mymidi.audio/ Note: I havent written or published this material in an attempt to be impressive. To be honest, it terrifies me. But I feel prompted by God to put the stories and reflections out to a wider audience in this way, and who am I to argue.

03.01.2022 Only 2 weeks to go
