25.01.2022 We know Lucrezia Borgia primarily as a beautiful poisoner but maybe she’s more a victim than a villain given that she may have been sexually abused by both of her brothersCesare and Giovanniand also by her father, the future Pope Alexander VI. Donizetti’s stunningly dramatic music allows us to explore the complex world surrounding the beautiful Lucrezia. Murray Dahm will speak on this topic on Monday 19 April 2021 at 10 am to 12-30 pm at Lindfield Uniting Church located at 454 Pacific Highway, Lindfield near the corner of Provincial Road. 22.01.2022 UK-born director Andy Morton has worked with Opera Australia since 2013 as a director. Andy will talk about Bluebeard's Castle and also Madama Butterfly in China, (he was the director for both of these operas), on Monday 26 April 2021 (not a holiday) at 10 am to 12-30 pm at Lindfield Uniting Church located at 454 Pacific Highway, Lindfield near the corner of Provincial Road. 07.01.2022 Experienced Music Presenter, Susan Deas will explore the music and life of the late 19th / early 20th century Italian opera composer, Giacomo Puccini. Susan is the master of presenting music in an easily understandable form. She uses a combination of audio visuals and musical examples together with her visual analysis of the music - magic.
