24.01.2022 ACCESS RnD BRADMAN MEDAL Congratulations to Mac Jenkins and Aiden Bariol who take out the $100 cash prize from Access RnD as our First Grade player of the round for Rounds 7 and 8 respectively. Mac was instrumental in our tight win over Randy Petes, taking two wickets, taking two catches (including a brilliant c&b) and scoring 26* in the ninth-wicket partnership that got us over the line. Aiden scored a brilliant 116 against on Day 1 against Gordon, which put us in a strong... position before Day 2 was abandoned. The Access RnD Bradman Medal will be presented to the player of the year at the end of the season. All games commence an hour earlier than usual due to expected high temperatures. Congratulations are due in particular to Glenn Aitken, who returns to First Grade after a long gap, and takes his place alongside both of his brothers, and to Neil Sarkar, Alex MacGill and Joe Connell who make ...their debuts for the club. President Rob Lavery suits up for the Bears for the first time since 2017, and there are debuts for Fraser Noack and Ben Van der Merwe at Second Grade Level, Finn Nixon-Tomko in 3s, and five players (Aki Rana, John Nevell, Aiden Bennett, Olly Jennings and Nick Hay) for Fourth Grade. 11.01.2022 VICTOR EMERY CLUB - JAMES CAMPBELL Congratulations to First Grade spearhead James Campbell, who took his 12th 5-wicket haul for the Bears (and 8th at the top grade) against St George on Saturday. James produced a special opening spell, even by his own exacting standards, taking 4/6 off 7 and then followed up with a fifth at the start of his next spell. James has now taken 235 First Grade wickets, the 16th highest all-time aggregate for the club. A Bear for as long as he’s o...wned whites and now in his 10th season in the top grade, James is a tremendous asset to the club and his hunger for wickets shows no sign of abating. 07.01.2022 WEEKEND WRAP-UP It was a fantastic Saturday for the Bears, with 1s and 2s in strong positions against St George, 3s and 4s winning handsomely with bonus points over Easts Dolphins and our Women's 3s recording their first ever win over Bankstown. Tom Jagot recorded his eighth First Grade hundred, making 141. Today, PGs and Brewer Shield were both defeated, but the Bears batted strongly in both - including our second ever women's 50 by Liz Buckley and Kobe Allison adding 84 r...uns to his 5/28 for 4s yesterday.
