20.01.2022 Have you forgotten what day of the week it is? Doesnt really matter except that online yoga is on tomorrow morning at 7:30am to stretch out the mind, body and lungs!

19.01.2022 In keeping with current COVID-19 guidance: 1. Please do not come to the pool if you have any cold or flu symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, fever, etc) no matter how mild. You will be asked to go back home immediately. 2. All squad sessions are being designed to try to space each other out. Please listen to the coaches, stay 2 m away from everyone, always go 10 sec apart, and dont necessarily finish at the wall during this time. When standing at an end, there should b...e no more than 3 people in a lane between the flags and the wall. 3. Do not share water bottles or goggles, dont spit water, and if you have to cough, use an elbow and cough away from anyone near you! 4. Use the hand sanitiser at the entry when you arrive and when you leave. 5. Please be courteous and kind in these trying times:) The more we can demonstrate that current guidance is being followed, the longer the pool will be able to stay open! Thank you everyone for doing your part to keep the community healthy.

17.01.2022 After having spent all my free time in lockdown working on getting the pool re-opened, the fight is not over! Many of you may have seen or heard the news that the mayor is putting a new motion forward at Council on Monday. The independent Councillors motion planned for Monday was removed from the agenda on a technicality. While on the surface, the mayors resolution appears optimistic, upon further reading, the wording is such that the pool will unlikely be able to re-open,... but the mayor can claim she tried. You may have received an email from the mayor with her resolution today if you have already sent an email to council on this issue. If you can respond requesting an amendment or simply write a note to council requesting the same no later than 4pm on Monday, perhaps she will change or amend the resolution at council prior to it going to a vote. Change from: 1. THAT Council undertake the 12-monthly structural engineering review of the pool shell and subject to the results of the review not identifying significant further deterioration, the North Sydney Olympic Pool outdoor pool be made available for lap swimming, initially on a pre-booking basis. To: 1. THAT Council undertake a structural report which confirms the pool is safe to swim in for everyday use and that Council adheres to any protocols and crowd loading measures to ensure safety, then the pool will be immediately reopened and available for lap swimming, initially on a pre-booking basis. The mailing list of who to send the email to remains the same as previously communicated: North Sydney Council , [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Norman Boyle

16.01.2022 Sunday 22 March 2020 A message from Masters Swimming Australia to all our members. Update on the continuing impact of COVID-19. With the increasing concerns ar...ising from the spread of COVID-19, the National Board of Management of Masters Swimming Australia are diligently working together to stay across the latest information at hand. Our primary focus is to protect the health and safety of our members, coaches, technical officials, volunteers and staff. With the ongoing closure of pools across Australia to prevent the spread of the virus, it is becoming increasingly more difficult for our people to manage social distancing and maintain good hygiene while in group training. While the sport of swimming is the livelihood of Masters Swimming Australia, the organisation strongly discourages Clubs from organising ongoing group training for its members until further notice. We have a responsibility to the community and each other to work together to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Masters Swimming Australia will be continuing to provide updates regarding COVID-19 and information in relation to what you can do when youre not swimming! Our staff will be working from home at intermittent times. If you cant reach us on the phone, please email us directly or contact [email protected] until further notice. Gerry Tucker (National President) and Sarah Pisterman (General Manager). On Behalf of the National Board of Management. Sunday 22 March 2020
