24.01.2022 Did you know all Barbells aren't created equal? 1 strip... 2 strips... small grip... thick grip... Here we break down the different types of bars you didn't know about!

23.01.2022 Snatch balance is King! If you're having trouble with catching the bar in the snatch you should add these in a couple of times per week. They drill footwork and timing while allowing a safe and repeatable workflow (jerk block depending of course)

22.01.2022 We’ve had the privilege of having @alethea_boon train with us all at @northsydneyweightlifting over the past 10 weeks! To say it’s been a pleasure would be an understatement. Congrats on your selection again and congrats to @starrluke from @starr_strength in his guidance and expert coaching along the way too! GO BOON

19.01.2022 These gals!! Can’t wait to get back to it tonight @lickynucas @alethea_boon @gabbyclyburn

13.01.2022 Is your Power Snatch Heavier than your Squat snatch?? If it is then you have to ask yourself HOW IS YOUR SPEED UNDER THE BAR?? - - The Snatch is not a grip and rip... It's a timing movement that requires the right amount of pull for the perfect about of speed moving into the catch/receiving position (overhead squat)... - Here @gabbyclyburn uses the Blocks in a high hang/pockets position to limit the momentum in the pull to work on her speed under the bar. - This drill is a must for anyone who needs to get down FAST! -

13.01.2022 The new @northsydneyweightlifting webinar series going down today!! Who’s keen??

12.01.2022 Everyone hits a plateau.. A sticking point. The only key of getting through it is Change.. - Most athletes get stuck here... what has made them great is also what’s limiting them. ... - To get where you need to go you can’t do what you’ve always done... BUT the risk of change is immense - What happens if you go backwards? What happens if you bomb in comp? What exactly do I need to change? What if I’m wrong and I fail? - You can’t change by yourself. We’re not good enough to make the 100% correct changes all of the time especially if you’ve made bad changes before and had to claw your way back alone. - We all need a mentor, a coach, an overseer. We all need someone to help us when we don’t know what to do. We all need that person in our corner, one with experience to help us make the right change. - Who’s your facilitator of change??

05.01.2022 For the beginner this is a massive problem... - If this is an issue for you then there’s probably 3 things you need to look at... 1 Don’t rip the bar from the ground like it’s 1000kg - 2Make sure the bar finishes/keeps close and don’t let it get away from your body - 3 Finish tall at the top with straight arms first... don’t start pulling until you’ve fully straightened your legs and you’re up on your toes - These 3 things won’t fix it completely but it’ll give you a great starting point!
