25.01.2022 Need some inspiration and something to remember why we love our game #olympics #petaedebone #welovesoftball

25.01.2022 At Northvale, we are all about team spirit, looking out for our team mates, on and off the diamond. Today is RUok? Day. Open and honest conversations about mental health are important and can save lifes. Be prepared to ask, be prepared if the answer is 'no, I'm not ok'. Ask not only today, but every day of the year. #ruokday2020 #ruokeveryday #MHFA

22.01.2022 VOLUNTEER APPECIATION WEEK What it means to be a volunteer from our club president Yona: ... Volunteering has always been important to me and I have volunteered in many different roles over the years. For me, volunteering is more than simply 'giving back to the community' (although that is one important aspect). When I volunteer in school, child care and sports clubs I become part of my children's journey. If they are passionate about something, the best thing for me is to get involved and volunteer and support them. Volunteering for Northvale as president has been a wild ride last season, being completely new to the sport as a player myself. But it has taught me so many valuable lessons. And I don't mean just the 'obvious' things like budgeting, planning fundraisers or the general insight into how sport clubs are run. I have experienced great support, teamwork and commitment from my peers, attributes that make the club so special. I will not hesitate in putting up my hand up again for another season. #softballfamily #softballvolunteer #bringonsummer #teamspirit #softballlife

21.01.2022 Different sport post today: Great HPV training session today at Casey fields. Northvale has become a proud sponsor of the Jells Park PS racing team this season. Look at them go! #jpracing #humanpoweredvehicles #energybreakthroughchallenge #nextgeneration

19.01.2022 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK What it means to be a volunteer from general member Faye:... I joined the committee because I like to help out where I can. One of the most rewarding parts was being in charge of the Bunnings fundraiser days, even though my fridge was full of sausages and smelt of onions! Come and join the committee where you can do as much or as little as you want , it all counts and everyone’s say in future decisions of the club matter. #softballfamily #softballvolunteer #softballmedal #bringonsummer #teamspirit #softballlife #softballcatcher

16.01.2022 VOLUNTEEER APPRECIATION WEEK What it means to be volunteer from club treasurer Mary:... I’ve been a member for Northvale for Twenty years this season. I started out as a junior back in 2000 and have played in every season since. I've been a coach in the past and played in a higher grade for most of my u15s years until I was able to play what was B reserve. Even then I played in the higher grade. Growing up, my mum didn’t have a license so wasn’t able to be a part of the committee. Once I got my license, I wanted to give back to the club and became part of the committee. I did so for a few years and took a break but last season I felt it was time to come back and help out. I enjoy catching up with our committee and helping our club out with our future. I’d love to run another trivia night but the more hands on deck the better! We have a great community within this club and I can’t wait to see where the future takes us. #softballlife #teamspirit #softballfamily #clubvolunteer #bringonsummer #softballcommunity

16.01.2022 With current uncertainty what lies ahead with restrictions and lockdowns, the Northvale Softball Club Committee has decided to move forward with a virtual AGM on September 5th at 3pm. An important part of the AGM is the election of a new committee. Being a volunteer is very rewarding for many of our members and a great personal experience. So first we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all our current and past committee members plus the many other volunteers who lend a hand... along the way. Commencing Monday August 3rd, we will be featuring our Northvale SC Volunteer Appreciation Week. Our committee will be sharing their stories about why they are a volunteer and the personal benefits we gain from the experience. Please contact the club at [email protected] if you are interested in a committee role. Now more than ever lets work together. #northvalesc #teamspirit #volunteerappreciation #worktogether #softballlife See more

15.01.2022 What a game last night! The rain held off and we were in for a treat. After leading with 6 runs after the first inning, there where some very close calls on the bases and we ended up with a 8-8 draw against Hard Knox Panthers Black. Amazing effort ladies! #nightgamesarethebestgames #northvalesc #knoxpanthers #govales #softball

14.01.2022 We are all in this together. A phrase we have heard many times over the past few months. And while this is true, it is also true that we are indeed together in the same storm, but we are all on different boats. Some of us are sailing through this pandemic relatively unscathed, where others are struggling. As a club, we acknowledge this. We are keeping fees low and can help you manage costs for equipment. We are #strongertogether.... #softball #funinthesun #batterup #communitysport #summersports (photo taken pre-covid)

14.01.2022 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK What it means to be a volunteer from Co Secretary Jill:... Being part of this club is like being part of an extended family. I launched into being club secretary which I did for 3 years and this season as Co Secretary. I have also helped across fundraising, social media and assistant coaching. My own family are always involved in volunteering as well and my youngest Lily is hoping to one day be club president. Being part of the committee has helped my own personal growth and confidence. It's very satisfying to watch the growth and success of the club and the best part is all the life long friends you make along the way. So even if you can contribute only a little of your time, it all helps in a big way. So get on board and nominate today for the committee! #softballfamily #softballvolunteer #softballmedal #bringonsummer #teamspirit #softballlife #softballmum

13.01.2022 Last night Open 4 Red took on Ejays White in what was a nail biter with only one run difference at the end of the game, but unfortunately for the Red team the score reverted back to a 11-6 loss. We had some excellent hitting and base running and even a couple of awesome catches. If you haven’t had enough softball this week head down to Jells tomorrow night at 7pm to watch our Open 4 White team take on Hard Knox Panthers Black. #softballneverends #nightgamesarethebestgames

11.01.2022 As a club we are gutted by the announcement made yesterday of another lockdown. However health and safety always comes first and we all have to do our bit to keep everyone safe. For now, of course, all trainings and meetings are cancelled (see SV official statement below). This lockdown seems harder than the first, and we urging you to reach out if you need any help. Remember we are all in this together and the way you feel is the same as other members of the community. You ...are not alone. Stay safe everyone, take care of yourself, your loved ones and the people around. Remember, it is physical distancing, not social distancing! SOFTBALL VICTORIA - 8 July 2020 Following Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ announcements made yesterday afternoon on the return to stage three lockdown restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne, Softball Victoria confirms the shutdown of all softball activity in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire area for the next six weeks, starting at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, 8 July 2020. This shutdown means no softball activity of any kind is to occur in metropolitan Melbourne including meetings, events, training or activities. This also includes the Softball Victoria Winter Academy, which will be postponed until further notice. 09.01.2022 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK What it means to be a volunteer from Co Secretary Sharon:... I have been part of this wonderful club for 20 years now and have pretty much volunteered every year in some way shape or form, from general committee member to Treasure, Co-Secretary and even President for a few years helping the club grow again. I think the most rewarding role however has been coaching the junior teams, seeing the growth, excitement and joy on their faces as they hit the ball or run home for the first time is priceless and this is what it is all about. Not only do I volunteer at a club level but also the wider softball community and association, this has given me a better understanding of what it takes to put so many clubs and teams on the diamonds each week and also the importance of growth and recruitment for our sport. From a Waverley perspective I have organised the working bees and come and try days and I am also on the general committee helping in the canteen among other things. I think I get just as much from the club and wider softball community as I put into it, the joy I get from being so involved and helping out where ever I can is what keeps me coming back, even though I am totally exhausted at the end of each Saturday I wouldn’t have it any other way!! The lifelong friends I have also gained along the way is something I could not do without especially in this difficult time we are all facing. Every year someone new comes into the club or our family as we like to say and that is just another friend to add for life, we are family and that is why volunteering is not hard work at all, you do it for the love.the love of the sport and the love of your team mates and friends. You don’t need to be a player to participate and volunteer so come on board and join in the fun, jump onto the committee TODAY you won’t regret it #softballislife #teamspirit #softballfamily #softballvolunteer #softballmedal #nextseason

08.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day we hope you make the most of an ISO one. #happyfathersday #isostyle #softaballfamily #northvalesc

07.01.2022 What a glorious day it was at the ball park today. First up our U15s took on Frankston in a close game with a grand slam happening to give us a win in the end 8-4. Our U18s had an epic game against Eastern Raiders and the girls really held their own against a tough opposition to only loose the game in the last dig 8-5. After lunch it was the seniors turn to show what they can do with both the Red and White teams playing. The Red team had a tough game and while it looked like we were down we certainly weren’t out with a great come back to draw 17-17 just needed one last run. The White team had a great game with many highlights but just missed out on the win going down 10-8. All in all the Vale’s had an awesome day not matter the result. #summersport #epicgames #softballlife #northvalesc

06.01.2022 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK What it means to be a volunteer from general member Penny:... I’ve been part of the Northvale committee for 3 years. Playing softball for the ‘Vales’ gives me so much.... I get regular exercise throughout the summer months, learn new skills, and most importantly have a laugh with friends. Volunteering on the committee is a way for me to give back and make a positive difference to the club. I’ve got two primary school age kids, and I work full-time so life is busy, but I spend a few hours a month of my time helping out, and it’s genuinely been a rewarding experience. So, come and chat to me if you want to know more, or put your hand up, get involved and make a difference! #softballfamily #softballvolunteer #softballmedal #bringonsummer #teamspirit #softballlife #softballhomerun

05.01.2022 How awesome it is to be back at junior training. Bring on 2020/2021 season #trainingmotivation #gonorthvale #juniorsrock

03.01.2022 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK What it means to be a volunteer from general member Hayley:... I have found the first full year of being part of Northvale’s committee rewarding and fun. I was inspired to become involved during my 3rd season as a player, not only to challenge myself personally but also give back to my club. Collaboration, networking, fundraising along with team effort are some of the key involvements and is what makes our little red and white family grow. If you would like to make a difference and try something new then come join us, we would love to hear from you. #softballfamily #northvalesc #volunteerappreciation #teamspirit #softballlife #softballers

01.01.2022 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK What it means to be a club volunteer from general member Cass:... I joined the Northvale Committee after my daughter Trinity started playing for the Northvale U12s. I have enjoyed being involved in the committee as meetings don’t take up much time, are always jovial & are a lovely way for people to learn how committees function a skill that transfers to the real world. In my year at Northvale I have completed the Level One Scorers Course and watched a lot of softball. In the 2021 season I hope to have time to actually play some softball. I would encourage all parents to get involved in the running of Northvale as it gives you a wonderful sense of belonging and purpose within the club whilst providing a great opportunity to set an example to your kids. #softballclubspirit #northvalesc #softballcommunity #softballvolunteer

01.01.2022 Softball Australia, in consultation with its Member States, has re-scheduled all national events that were to be held in the December 2020/January 2021 period T...he decision, resulting from COVID-19’s impacted travel restrictions and quarantining measures, is one that Softball Australia does not take lightly, but is in the best interests of keeping all participants safe whilst still offering the opportunity for National Championships to proceed See the full schedule here | https://bit.ly/3lvNnM5

01.01.2022 Seniors are back with a bang! The Red Team took away a nice 12-10 win, despite being one player down due to injury after the second inning. Never give up! The White Team had a bit of a rough start and unfortunately lost their game, also battling injuries. Regardless of winning and losing, we had a great day out there in the wind (or storm) and are proud of all our seniors.... See you all out there next Saturday! See more
