11.01.2022 On behalf of Baseball Tasmania, I would like to wish all those people who have been involved in trying to bring baseball to the north west and their families a safe and happy Festive Season. In so doing, may we also spare a thought for those who, for whatever reason, are unable to spend the season with loved ones. Thoughts also go out to those emergency services who are away from their families either fighting fires, looking after our health or protecting us, whether it be locally or overseas. David

10.01.2022 Due to family health issues, Andrew Barton has had to stand down as coordinator of the Northwest Tasmania Baseball League. On behalf of Baseball Tasmania, I would like to thank Andrew for all his hard work and wish he and his family all the best for the future. David

09.01.2022 Just a reminder of the meeting tomorrow, 10 am at the Acton Softball Centre Payne St Acton. If you and/or your children are interested in playing baseball or t-ball; please come along to continue the momentum of bringing baseball to the north-West coast. David

07.01.2022 The future of a baseball league to cater for the north west coast of Tasmania is now at a critical point. As mentioned previously, Andrew Barton has had to take a step back and we are now looking for people to continue his passion to see baseball introduced on the northwest coast. A meeting to discuss the league is to be held shortly and I would invite anyone who is interested in forming a committee and/or attending the meeting, to contact Eliza Moss. The success of any league is dependent upon a unified approach where all ideas are welcome and egos are left at the door. Other sports in Tasmania have floundered because they did not promote a unified, welcoming approach to existing and potential members,. David

06.01.2022 Just a reminder of the training/working bee at the Spreyton baseball diamond tomorrow, commencing at 11.30am. David

04.01.2022 At last Sunday's meeting, it was decided to rename the league to the North West Tigers Baseball. Below is a poster designed by Luke Baker advertising the upcoming Come n Try Days. David

03.01.2022 Eliza Moss, who has taken over from Andrew Barton as the coordinator for the proposed NWTBL, has spoken recently with both the Burnie City Council and Devonport City Council with regards a ground for the proposed league. Eliza had an onsite meeting with a member of the Devonport city council today and it is her considered opinion that the ground located at Spreyton would be more appropriate for a proposed NWTBL league. I would invite people to provide feedback on this as all ...the previous work by Andrew has centred around a venue in Burnie. The advantage of Spreyton is that there is already an established baseball diamond which would need regular maintenance to keep it up to scratch. At the time Andrew and I looked at trying to establish a league, the Devonport Council had advised the ground would not be available, hence our concentration on a ground in the Burnie area. I appreciate a move to Devonport would require travel which may not be convenient for potential players but I would invite people to comment with regards a ground, the league and anything else which you deem relevant. Thank you. David See more

02.01.2022 Just a reminder of the very important meeting to be held this Sunday to determine the future of the North West Tasmania Baseball League. Anyone who is interested in either playing and/or helping out with baseball, is invited to attend a meeting at noon at the baseball ground in Spreyton. The ground is located next to the Spreyton Cricket Club, Mersey Main Rd Spreyton. The NWTBL has been granted access to a purpose built baseball field, now is the opportunity to build on all the work done previously to bring baseball to the north west. David

01.01.2022 With Andrew's departure, we are looking for someone to take over the reins of forming a baseball league to cater for the North west coast of Tasmania. Anyone interested in taking over the role should either message me or contact me on 0468 927 363. David
