Originally from Brisbane, Dr Amanda Kelly has lived and worked in multiple regional towns throughout Australia. Prior to Medicine, she worked as an Occupational Therapist in roles spanning from paediatrics to geriatrics/ aged care. After completing Medicine at The University of Queensland, she commenced her hospital resident years at The Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital. W...ith her interest in providing quality primary healthcare across all parts of the lifespan, Dr Kelly chose GP training. She enjoys the variety offered by general practice, as a current registrar, and was also privileged to obtain placements in special areas of interest including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Paediatrics. 04.01.2022 To Northwest Family Medical patients and the wider Gunnedah community, Due to the ever-increasing threat of the COVID-19 virus, Northwest Family Medical have had to put some additional measures in place to ensure the safety of the Staff and those more susceptible to the virus. Until further notice the following practices will be put in place:... 1. SCRIPTS - Please PHONE the surgery on 02 6742 6606. Advise the reception staff of the required scripts and your preferred chemist and a Telehealth consultation will be arranged. 2. REFERRALS - Please PHONE the surgery on 02 6742 6606. Advise the reception staff of the required referral details and this will be completed at the discretion of the Doctor. For all elective surgery, we advise you contact the surgeons offices to confirm your surgery is proceeding. 3. APPOINTMENTS ALL APPOINTMENTS ARE TO BE MADE OVER THE PHONE! We will not be accepting walk ins to the surgery. ANYONE WHO HAS ANY RESPIRATORY ILLNESS, FEVER, SORE THROAT (with or without a fever) or COUGH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THE SUGERY. 4. Only present to your appointment AT THE TIME OF YOUR APPOINTMENT. We will not be allowing anyone to wait in the surgery. 5. On arrival, speak into the intercom at the front door advising your name and time of appointment. You will be asked if you have read the COVID-19 sign and we would appreciate an honest answer on the symptoms displayed. 6. We will only be allowing entry to the person who has the appointment. Additional family members will not be allowed into the surgery. There will be certain circumstances where we will have discretion around this. Parents with children are advised to only bring the child who is sick. We are all in this together and need to work together as a Community to ensure the safety of those most a risk and to minimize the spread of this virus as much as we can through practicing the required social distancing measures.
