24.01.2022 PLEASE READ RE: CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - INVERELL (24/10/20-25/10/20) All players, parents and spectators will be required to sign in upon arrival The club will have a QR code available for sign in. THIS WILL BE MANDATORY FOR BOTH DAYS!!... We are aware of the predicted weather forecast for the weekend and please note we will be monitoring this closer to the weekend. If you have had any COVID-19 symptoms, are awaiting tests results you must let the organiser know and MUST NOT attend. There will be no on-court warm up available prior to play on either the Saturday or the Sunday, but players may utilise the surrounding areas to warm up whilst maintain social distancing. Opening ceremony will start at 7:45am sharp so we ask that all players arrive beforehand to sign in, pay entry fee and head to their dedicated courts. Upon arrival players will need to go straight to the allocated courts for opening ceremony as per below: 8/Us COURT 1 10/U Girls COURT 1 10/U Boys COURT 1 12/U Girls COURT 3 12/U Boys COURT 3 14/U Girls COURT 7 14/U Boys COURT 7 16/U Girls COURT 11 16/U Boys COURT 11 Opens COURT 11 All North West parents will be asked to spread out over courts 2, 6 and 10 and all North East parents will be asked to spread out over courts 4, 8 and 12. (Please be advised these court allocations are for the opening ceremony only) Players will be required to practice social distancing for the duration of the opening ceremony. Parents will also be required to practice social distancing whilst watching the opening ceremony. There will be safety officers at this event and we ask that you respect any instructions that they may give it is their role to help us keep each other safe and to make sure we are all adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines. Entry fee payment All players will need to have their entry fee of $20 per child marked in an envelope with players names on it. There will be two station near the clubhouse one for North East and one North West players. Please put your marked envelop in the correct region box. Players names and payments will be marked off with the representative at the region boxes. All players will also receive a playing shirt when their entry fee has been paid. Please note there is NO pay NO play policy. So payment needs to be made prior to first match being played. For your information, there will be a FREE BBQ lunch for all players on both the Saturday and Sunday. The Inverell Tennis Club will also have canteen facilities OPEN with coffee and lunches/ food and drinks available. 22.01.2022 Attention all females looking to get a coaching qualification :) The North West region will be holding a FREE FEMALE ONLY Foundation coaching course at Tamworth on 5/6th February. The Foundation coaching course is suitable for those who would like to begin coaching tennis, or who are currently coaching, under the direct supervision of a qualified tennis coach.... Course participants will have the opportunity to experience ANZ Tennis Hot Shots activities for Blue and Red stage players on court using modified balls, racquets, nets and courts appropriate to the developmental needs of these players. While the majority of the course is conducted on-court, participants will also gain an awareness of their responsibilities as a coach to ensure a safe environment for all tennis participants. Play will commence at 8:30am both Saturday & Sunday we ask that players arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in, pool & court allocation. Singles to be played on Saturday Doubles to be played on Sunday... A reminder that you will need to make payment for your events upon check-in your entry fee ($40) needs to be ready to handover in a marked envelope. 19.01.2022 North West Head Series 10-11th October - Narrabri Head Series 17-18th October - Moree Head Series 7-8th November Far Northern Champions Head Series @Glen Innes ... Entry fee is $40 which includes one singles and one doubles event. There will be trophies for our age group winners and R/Ups. And money for our divisional winners and R/Ups. There will be a progressive points race for the 10 and 12 under events. The overall winners will be presented with a Head Package at the end of the series. 10/Under & 12/Under event Singles and doubles round robin over 2 days. Doubles is inclusive with singles fee. 16.01.2022 More of our north west athletes doing well! Congratulations to Anna Bishop and Cooper Wilkinson who competed at the 2020 NSW UTR State performance event this week at Gosford. Unfortunately the weather was a big factor in the tournament. With multiple rain delays throughout the event. Results below: Anna Bishop - 14/under girls singles quarter finalist and semi finalist in the doubles (doubles was washed out and semi was not played) Cooper Wilkinsons - playing up in the 1...8/under event - Cooper lost a 14-12 (super tiebreaker) in his semi finals of the singles and was in the final of the doubles (again doubles was not played due to rain) Congratulations to both Anna and Cooper on great results. This week Vitorio Sardinha is competing at the 2020 QLD UTR performance event in the 16/unders. He is currently playing his round robin matches! Best of luck this week Vitorio

13.01.2022 Inverell Champion of Champions - Cancellation We are saddened to announce that after consideration from the NJTF committee that we have no choice but to cancel the up and coming 2020 Northern NSW Champion of Champions event at Inverell this weekend. The committee have been monitoring the weather conditions throughout the week and unfortunately we have had enough rain at this stage that the clay courts are already wet and some unplayable. Unfortunately the rain forecast over ...the weekend also is not looking promising. The foundation would like to thank all players and parents for your continual support of this event. As you are aware we had to cancel the first event due to COVID-19 restrictions and now to have to cancel due to the rain is very unfortunate. We had great numbers looking to participate in both events and again thank you for your support towards our prestigious event. Special thank you to Eli Baylis for his help organizing the North East team and all his work towards this event. We hope that you all understand the decision that has been made and again we apologise for any hassle it has caused. Parents please note most accommodation will give a credit for accommodation cost already paid. Make sure to ask when cancelling accommodation. 05.01.2022 Congratulations to our local NW players Taya Powell, Aaron Osmond , Ben Butler and Sophie Bailey who competed In the 40th annual Northern NSE Championships held at Coffs Harbour over the last 3 days . All players performed admirably with Taya finishing 3rd in the Open women's singles and Aaron winning the 18 singles , semis of open singles and winning open men's doubles with local coach Eli Bayliss.
