21.01.2022 Did you know that people respond 6000 times faster to a visual than we do to text?! It’s no coincidence that we’re seeing an increase in image use across websites. But all those images add up in weight, and the heavier your website is the longer it takes to load.the longer it takes to load the more chance that your users will exit your website.... When using images or videos on your website it is essential optimise your images before uploading them to your site to help minimise the weight of your site to help optimise your page load time. Ideally you want to reduce the size of your images without compromising the quality. The best way to do this is in photoshop where you can have maximum control over how you compress the image. 18.01.2022 Trying to come up with content to share on your social media platforms? Keep these three things in mind; Educate, Engage and Entertain. Educate. Your audience follows your account because theyre interested in your product/service. Try to post content that teaches them something about what you do or answers a question they may have. Educating your audience is a great way to share your expertise and create a conversation with your audience.... Engage. The exact purpose of social media is to be social and engage online. Engaging with your audience helps to grow a community around your brand. Responding to peoples comments lets them know theres a real person behind the screen that they can make a human connection with. People do business with people that they know, like, and trust. Humanising your brand not only builds connections, but it can also have a real impact on sales. Entertain. Entertainment is a big reason of why people end up scrolling on social media. Try and get creative to come up with entertaining posts that are relative to your business. Look for opportunities to have fun with your audience but make sure the content is relevant to your business.
18.01.2022 Thinking about getting a website built? Make sure you check the following with your web designer/developer to avoid getting a shock when you receive your invoice! Hosting This is an ongoing fee you pay to keep your website online. Some designers include an annual fee payment, others dont. Without hosting your website cannot be accessed online. Make sure you check whether your designer will cover this fee or whether they expect you to pay it. ... Content (professional photography, paid images) Your website designer will design the way your site looks but will they supply content? Youll probably start by briefing them on your business and what you want from your website, its a good idea to find out whether they provide content for your site as well. Prices can start to add up pretty quickly if you unknowingly have to hire copywriters and professional photography or purchase images for your site. Plugins and add on If your business requires people to book an appointment online (a restaurant, gym, hotel, etc) you will want to implement a booking tool on your website. Plugins and addons like this generally come at an extra price as they require additional time to set up. If an addon will be an essential part of your site make sure youre clear with your web designer about what it will cost before development starts. Education When a website is being designed many people get caught up in the look and forget about the function. You will regularly have to update content and images to stay relevant online, so knowing how to use your site properly is vital. Make sure youre clear with your web designer before you sign a contract, about what level of education you will need and if they are able to provide it within their package or if it will be an additional cost. Support Imagine using your site as per normal and then suddenly something goes wrong. You go back to your web designer for help and they tell you, support is an additional fee. Theyve got you backed into a corner. Support is normally included or offered as a discounted extra when you sign up, so if youre not confident using your site, opt for the support package! #webdesign #websitedesign #webdesigner #webdesigners #webdevelopment #websitedevelopment #webdev #freelance #digitaldesign #designagency #creativestudio #userexperience #userinterface #uidesign #uxdesign #designinspiration #ecommerce #womenwhocode #womeninbusiness #webtips #webhacks

17.01.2022 People purchase emotionally and then justify the purchase rationally. There are thousands of products similar to what your selling. Why do we choose one brand over another? Because we love the way that that particular brand makes us feel! It goes beyond your product. Take clothing for example, it all has the same function, but why did you purchase the brand of clothes your wearing right now? People want to buy an item for more than just its function, they buy to be a part of ...something bigger, a part of the brand. They want to feel what the brand is selling, whether that be safe, rebellious, cool, smart, proactive, healthy, conscious... Look around, at the items on your desk for example, why did you purchase a particular brand of computer? When its time for an update will you try another brand or stay loyal to the same brand? The value of a brand lies not in the product that theyre selling but in the emotions that theyre selling. #ecommerce #sellonline #brand #branding #brandandidentity #quote #designquote #sethgodin

15.01.2022 Setting up social media accounts for your business? Here are our top tips! 1. Set up business pages, not personal pages. Dont mix business with personal life. Keep your personal social media pages separate from your business pages. It looks more professional, you can increase brand awareness and access extra features through business pages. 2. Pick platforms that work for your business. There are a range of great platforms out there, but if youre trying to manage 5 differen...t platforms and adjust content accordingly for each one, its just not going to work. Quality over quantity is the case here. Think about your audience and what platforms they spend their time on and then pick 1 or 2 platforms to manage from there. 3. Share relevant, helpful content. If you want to build a community around your brand, you need to be releasing high-quality content that your audience can relate to and engage with. Ask yourself what are your customers problems and goals. Your content that you share should be helping your customer solve their problems and achieve their goals. 4. Create a content calendar. One of the keys to growing your followers is to post consistently (but remember tip 3 - Valuable content only no spam!). Take one day out of your month to plan out the content you will post for the month and when you will post it. Check your insights to see what time your audience engages with you best and post around this schedule. Having a plan for the month will save you a lot of time in the long run. 5. Make it visual. Where possible add imagery to posts. Attention spans are short so you have to catch peoples attention quickly, imagery is a good way to do it. Its also a good way to show off products/services and personalise your business. Try curating a feed that reflects your branding guidelines and your business values. 6. Delegate. Cant find the time to create and curate your space on social media. Let us do the hard stuff for you. We can create customised posts to reflect your branding and get your feed looking professional. 10.01.2022 You may be finding yourself working from home now due to COVID-19. If youre new to the whole WFH situation it can be hard to find motivation. Weve put together some tips to help you get out of bed, put on some pants (pajama pants dont count!) and get through the day.... 1. Get up at the same time each day. The first step to working from home is try and keep a somewhat normal work routine. Getting up at the same time each day ensures you keep this routine. Try to finish work at around the same time you finish on a normal work day as well. The time you save on traveling to and from the office? Well thats just bonus you time. 2. Get dressed. As simple as it sounds getting dressed for the day can help you set your frame of mind for the day. If you hang out in pajamas all day your hardly going to feel like working. Getting dressed is a simple way to signal to your brain that youre getting ready for a day of work...not a day in front of Netflix. 3. Create a workspace. Try to create a place to work that is similar to your work environment when your in office. If you normally work at a desk, clear your desk or bench and work from there. Try to separate the areas where you relax and where you work. If possible dont work from somewhere you would normally relax ie. your bed, the couch, so that your brain doesnt start associating where you relax with where you sleep and vice versa. 4.Remove distractions Do your work solely on a computer or laptop, no scrolling social media! Stick to your phone solely for phone calls and messaging while you work, scrolling is to be done in your own spare time. 5. Structure your day. Plan out your jobs for the day and by what time you need to have them complete. Reward yourself with a small break when you complete a task. Remember to take your normal lunch break, and get away from your screen and your desk. #workfromhome #wfh #webdesign #webdevelopment #businesstips

08.01.2022 Hashtags are making a comeback! Facebook is starting to push the use of hashtags in order to increase organic reach. First launched on Facebook in 2013 hashtags never really seemed to take off and didn’t seem to make much of an impact on users posts.... A hashtag is a keyword or phrase preceded by a # sign.
