25.01.2022 We are still waiting to hear when and what will be lifted from restriction in category 3 elective surgeries. It was on the agenda for the national cabinet meeting 11th May. Now it is looking more like late this week or next week until we will have any news. . The top half of the list is what we can do... everything else is a strict NO GO! . 05.01.2022 Norwest Plastic Surgery will continue consultations and operating until forced closures are implemented. However, we are making changes in the interest of the safety of both our patients and the team. We have minimised the number of people in the rooms, by having most of the team working remotely and postponing any non-essential appointments. We are doing our best to reduce as much overlap with waiting time to avoid crowding in the rooms.... Patients attending appointments will be required to participate in what is the normal standard of infection control for the team. This means hand washing and sanitising upon entry into the rooms. Doors are propped open and all reading material removed to reduce contact points. We are also asking patients to respect a 1.5m distance from other patients in the waiting room. Please notify our team if you are feeling unwell in any way or have any reason to feel that you are high risk for contact with others. We are more than happy to answer questions as best we can over phone or email. Feel free to send pictures or request a Skype call if you would prefer to stay out of the rooms during this time. Dr O’Hara is a fully qualified Specialist Plastic Surgeon and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeon’s (FRACS).
