24.01.2022 A message from Kylie our Melbourne East Netball Association President: We hope you and your families are all well and surviving Iso. It has certainly provided a lot of challenges, but it has also given us opportunities to think about things a little differently. With so much community discussion around what you can and cannot do we thought it timely to assure you we are following the advice of Federal, State and Local Governments and our Peak body Netball Victoria.... With the easing of restrictions on Monday we are currently waiting to hear from Netball Victoria as to what this means for us and what changes there maybe to our current restrictions. While in the future this may provide an opportunity for us to get back into participating in Netball outside of our home environment, MENA wants to emphasise that how we all collectively act in the coming weeks will directly affect the health of our community and our Associations ability to return to our regular Season activity in the near future. This is what we do know to now: No netball before 31 May unless further advised by netball Vic - as per the NV statement at https://vic.netball.com.au/covid-19-information Only Netball Victoria sanctioned activities are covered by Netball Victoria Insurance Maroondah council has notified us the stadium will remain closed until the 31 May We have started planning for a return, initially to training for the Representative Program, then a return to competitions and we encourage Clubs to think about their own training and how you each might manage this. We have seen ...netballers return to train with cautious excitement, and know the delight that a return to competition will bring our community. We will take the time to process the detail in these announcements and provide further advice as soon as we can.

18.01.2022 Hello all, Firstly on behalf of the Committee we hope you all are staying safe and well. We got so close to at least having our junior teams taking to the courts but given the current environment there is no question the right decision has been made. As it stands no decision can be made as to a Return to Play until the current restriction levels are reduced but MENA remains hopeful that netball can be played again this year. We will continue to communicate with you all as ...soon as we hear anything. We appreciate that going back into isolation is tough on everyone and we encourage you all to reach out to your team mates, your coach or even those of us on the Committee if you need support. Reach out just to stay connected to your teammates or reach out if you just need a netball fix. Rest assured you wont be alone in wanting to. There are also plenty of online options that we put up on our Facebook page to help you maintain your netball fitness and skills, whilst Im sure your coach would gladly provide some training from home advice if you want it. Sporting Clubs are a magnificent support network in good times and bad and whilst I may be biased we have a fantastic membership base that cares deeply for each other so dont be shy in leaning on it if required. With regard to fees paid this year at this stage MENA have advised they wont be making any decision with regard to this until at least the 31 October 2020 which is in line with Netball Victorias directive. Again we will communicate any decision if/when it has been made. Now for some good news, when we do get to come back and play we will be able to welcome some new players and their families to the East Ringwood family. So please join me in welcoming to East Ringwood Ashley & Elise DeRoss (both U13s), Bella Yates (U17s) and Erin Prior (U17s). 12.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago we outlined our plan for the next stage of restrictions easing. It was cautious. Considered. And it relied 100% on case numbers staying lo...w and stable, and testing remaining high. Pleased to say that today we can confirm that plan and take a few more steps along the way. These include a staggered return to community sport with full-contact training and competitions for under 18s resuming from 22 June, and everyone back to full competition by 20 July. Bars and clubs can reopen to seated patrons. Restaurants will be able to host up to 50. Cinemas can screen films, and theatres can put on shows. Shared kitchens and bathrooms at camp grounds and caravan parks can be used again. And the snow season has got the official green light. Thats whats changing. Heres whats not. If you can work from home, you must continue to work from home. This is absolutely crucial to pulling this off, and its no exaggeration to say that every single one of us is part of this solution. We simply wont be able to take these steps if passenger numbers on the PT network creep up and there is just no way we can have tens of thousands of people travelling into the city every day while keeping everyone safe. Three more important things that arent changing: Keep using common sense. Keep getting tested if you have symptoms. And keep looking out for each other.

12.01.2022 Hi all ERNC families, We hope you are all keeping well. MENA are proposing to run a 6 week 'FUN NETBALL FESTIVAL' starting on Saturday 30th October (Cup weekend), pending restrictions being eased to allow for it to go ahead.... This will be a fun opportunity for any players wanting to get back on the courts this year, after the disruption we've all had to the normal netball season. It will only be for junior age groups, with the exception being made to the 17U's to become 18U, to allow any players who are 18 to play. (unfortunately, the roadmap outlined by the government does not have any return to play this year for over 18's). The proposed game times are listed below - this is to take into account that only the outdoor courts can be used. There will only be 1 parent/guardian per player allowed for supervision purposes, along with 1 coach, 1 team manager & 1 scorer, with social distancing measures & face masks etc required. From a cost perspective, the club will cover the cost for any teams who would like to register, so there will be no further cost to anyone this year. (we will be sending out another announcement shortly re: refunds of 2020 fees/rollover into 2021). (NB. For anyone who took up the offer from Netball Vic of a partial refund of their 2020 memberships, you are still covered for the remainder of the year. For any new players, or anyone who received a full refund, you would need to purchase a membership, these being offered by Netball Vic at 50% cost). SO - WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO..... - please have a look through the attached information & decide if you would like to participate in the 6 week program - then, please respond to us with your interest ASAP. Of course, there is no obligation to play. But we would need enough interest to be able to register some teams, knowing that these may be a mixture of the teams that were registered in Autumn, based on the players wanting to be involved. 08.01.2022 It is with a very heavy heart that we advise the passing of beloved Life Member of the East Ringwood Netball Club, Jenny Crozier on Sunday evening following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Our deepest condolences are with husband Scott, children Jacqueline, Meagan & Mitchell and the entire family at this sad time. Jenny joined Norwood Heights as we were known then in 2004 and from that time she contributed massively to make the Club what we are today as a coach, me...ntor, Committee Member, Coaching Convenor, helping facilitate our affiliation with East Ringwood FC and being a friend to us all. Jenny was awarded a most deserved Life Membership in 2015. The special bond she shared with the parents and players of the team she coached containing her daughter Meagan from U11s all the way through to Open remained strong to the very end. We are forever grateful for the legacy left by Jenny. Sorely missed but never forgotten. Rest in Peace.

Whilst we know that netball may not be the first thing on your minds right now, we just wanted to reach out to you all, as well as pass on a recent update from Netball Victoria. The current recommendation is that all community netball is suspended until 31st May. Please read their statement below, this was posted on 23/3/20. You can check their site for ongoing updates but we ...will also do our best to keep you as informed as possible. We are all in this together, so we cannot stress enough - if anyone needs help, please just yell out. As much as wed all love to be at the courts, there are still ways you can enjoy netball over the coming weeks - head out into the backyard to practise goals, log into the NetFit virtual training thats being offered online, and please feel free to contact your coaches if youd like some training ideas that you can do from home. STATEMENT FROM NETBALL VICTORIA - 23 MAR 2020 Following yesterdays announcement from Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews that the State Government will be implementing a state-wide shut down of non-essential services, we ask our netball community to please follow suit and suspend all community netball competitions and activities. Previously we had recommended that all community netball be suspended until April 14, however today we wish to update this to recommend that all community netball be suspended until May 31. Netball Victoria recommends that all netball related programs including training and NetSetGO is suspended until May 31. Once again, this date will be reviewed continually, and we will update the Victorian netball community as soon as any further updates come to hand. As we all know, this situation is evolving daily, if not hourly, and so we are doing our best to update the Victorian netball community with our recommendations with the most up-to-date information we have available to us at the time.
