20.01.2022 Jordy Collins finds the rare makeable ride at The Wedge yesterday morning. His reaction is well justified. Clip: Benjamin Ginsberg
20.01.2022 Copied my fave asym today , only changes are crisper rail edges, MORElease rails in tail, and it’s stringerless , very interested and excited to get it glassed in in the water soon ...
20.01.2022 this quiver is definitely Not Normal... photo by Andrew Carruthers Photography...
19.01.2022 Fin tuning... its amazing what a tiny bit more area, or a bit of movement forward or back actually does, especially noticeable when you only have this much fin... especially when its in your fave ever ( almost finless ) board and you've ridden it thousnads of times and totally tuned in to how it performs with another set of fins...
18.01.2022 an old shot with a few different shapes...loved the bluey green one but not with that fin, went well with single and 2 small curved side fins... www.MOREsurfboards.com
18.01.2022 Six-Pistol for meeeeeee.....
17.01.2022 Fish Fingers of mine...
16.01.2022 Mine is the black n green one , about 6’3 , with some extreme MORElease rails I am frothing to test out, think extended bevel/ almost semi chine on the rail, Six-Pistol shape ...
15.01.2022 Excited to be shaping this design again , The Six-Pistol is super fun and with the twinzer plus 2 small nubbins/ stabilizer fins it’s not the norm but very FUNctional... this one is for Jarred , he wanted something different and fresh for his quiver...

13.01.2022 I dont think any 'Not Normal ' board should be plain white with just logos, ( from now on ) , that is way too normal... pretty keen to make it a thing that you got to go the whole hog and get some colours and will be encouraging whacky or creative sprays and artworks , not to make money ( do them yourself if you wish ) but to fit the ethos of 'Not Normal ' and to encourage more individualism and artistic creativity on these fun machines.... thoughts ? mp
13.01.2022 Copied my all time fave board, yep looks weird but goes insane... had it for over 6 years, prob made 4 variations none went as magically or made me look like I can surf ok quite like the old faithful, so a copy was due... only difference is a bit on the nose and I have gone stringerless... the artwork done by me is a bit of fun, I wanted to do one with zero planning and just pick up the tape and the paints and see what happened, totally spontaneous and kinda let it just it happen, bit of a creative colourful experiment / therapy / fun and I don’t mind it ... so keen for some decent waves so I can see if the newy goes as good as the old faithful... mp
12.01.2022 rode the newy today ( not quite cured but the conditions I made it for presented themselves and I couldnt miss the opportunity ya know... ) being 3 inches longer , I definitely felt the better paddling, the smoother ride, and more drive, speed and glide , especially when the waves faded and I had almost no wave in front of me, the board would just glide with ease and held its speed very well... a bit more foot movement is required and it doesnt slide, spin , drift as easily... ( which was the intention ) but only rode it in 1- 1 1/2 ft soft high tide peelers..., this newy has some rail grooves which I definitely felt working on a few steeper sections and think they'll be a real positive in this design and I look forward to learn/feel more about their benefits... if anything slightly negative, its the reduced spinability, but there's gains in other areas and again, I did design it for this small surf and for more glide, speed and wave catching, I have ridden the previous one so much that I am totally tuned into it and there'll be some adapting to the newy... I will ride it a few more times before possibly tweaking the tiny cut-off fins, think I can move them forward a bit , for a tad more pivot and more tail slide/spinability... the board held up amazingly well, I prob caught 35-40 waves and not a single depression in the flax deck... alot of info there and most wont bother to read it all , and most wont care, but I know several who are genuinely interested... thanks , mp See more
12.01.2022 oops, this isnt the right way.... Photography by Andrew Carruthers...
12.01.2022 I have 2 newies , one is ready and the other ( an almost finless 6'6 stringerless ) will be right in a week or so... 2 mind blowingly exciting boards, both pushing design and both boards that are exciting me both as a surfer and as a designer... gone the extra mile on both of them for myself this time and they are both very unique sleds... so now I wait and try to control my froth ahahah... How great are new boards ...yewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...... mp
11.01.2022 how do you steer this thing ??? photo by Andrew Carruthers Photography...
11.01.2022 Fave fins from my fave board and in to the new copied version... talk about keen... 2 days curing is enough yeah ???
10.01.2022 a dimple bottom double bat-tail twinzer I did for myself many years ago... mp
10.01.2022 6’6 Fish-Finger for me, lots goin on with this one, we have no stringer, flax deck, trialing new cloth on the bottom too, it’s a newy with carbon, Innegra and bassalt strips in it... also this one has some grooves and flutes in it for some extra hold and spice ... I love my ( almost ) finless surfing and the exploration down the rabbit hole in design is so fun and I’m not guided by anyone, just my own thoughts n feelings from trials n tested boards I have done, totally dictated by the waves and the way I wanna ride them...
07.01.2022 New finless ( almost ) Fish- Finger ... fresh fishhhhhhh.... let the evolution down the rabbit hole continue...
07.01.2022 Haven’t really been lovin the symmetrical quad fin set up ( the standard quad fin placement I mean , not the actual fins or board ) , the board feels good but the fin set up just doesnt feel as responsive, lively, and naturally predictable as my previous assym fin set ups, but I wanted to try the assym shape with this fin set up, something I haven’t done for a long long time, so was a planned and knowledge gaining decision, and I now know the assym fin set up I usually do o...n my own boards ( twinzer forhand rail, quad backhand , nubbin ce ntre on tail ) is so much better for myself... lost you yet ? But now it’s time to try some diff fins and see what is this boards optimum set up for me... these fins are great and I liked them a lot on a round tail quad 8 years ago but we’re a little unpredictable but time to give them another run I think.... plus I’m keepin things fresh heading into our shitty wave part of the year... 07.01.2022 little increase in coinage soonish... mp
05.01.2022 I may or may not have 3 new boards in the works for myself... pretty bloody excited too, just wish my shaper would hurry up... #ismyboardreadyyet?
05.01.2022 Trev’s frothing over his new Dung Beetle shape, stringerless and getting an old school mustard resin glass job too... about 40 ltrs of froth in this small wave beast...

04.01.2022 throwing it over the oncoming section on a 5'5" asymmetrical... photos by Andrew Carruthers
04.01.2022 Fat-Bat Fangtail Twinzer , 5’7 x 20 3/4 x 2 5/8 bit of a combo between 2 shapes I love and with a fin set up I love...to say I am excited about trying this weapon out would be a massive understatement.... keen as hell, now to find some patience to let her cure, then some 3-4 ft pumping beachies ...yewwww....... mp
03.01.2022 Testing these out very soon, I’ll be the first to admit, they’re weird looking things but let’s give them a go and see how they feel... Caudal Fins
03.01.2022 Current bits of foam I enjoy... hit me with any questions about them too, i'll try answer without draggin you down too deep into my rabbit hole ahahah...
02.01.2022 part of my quiver in 2014... variety is the spice...
