22.01.2022 ** BE ALERT ** Whilst the majority of the state joins with our food and fibre producers to celebrate our industry during the EKKA, the law breaking animal extre...mist fringe of our society are once again planning an invasion in the very near future. It has been brought to our attention that groups and individuals already known to police are organising action that may take place from this evening (Friday, 9th August) throughout the weekend possibly targeting the poultry industry within the Southern Downs area. Please be aware that possible action could target other industries, and may take place simaltaneously. Please be viligant, be safe, and look after yourselves and your neighbours. PREPARATION - URGENT Our advice on current actions you should take. Here are some suggestions. Before: 1. Keep main gates shut and locked 2. Signage - Warning no entry without permission from the landowner or you will be deemed to be trespassing, and will be sued. Guard dogs patrol this property 3. Engage with local police, neighbours, and friends. Have them on speed dial etc so they can rapidly respond and turn up as support. 4. Keep an eye out for suspicious convoy movements and phone ahead in the direction of travel 5. Make friends who may work in fuel stations aware of what is going on and ask then to act as an early warning system. During; 1. Footage is your friend. Everyone who attends in support MUST bring cameras. Record footage of faces, rego numbers, identifying features, any action or activity including with livestock equipment and especially any entry into house yard. 2. DO NOT USE FORCE even so called reasonable force can be something that could be turned against us. 3. Force (reasonable) may be used to protect against an act of force or violence, or direct damage to animals or property. 4. Possibly place yourselves in the way of intruders vehicles to prevent their departure until police arrive. Any physical attempt to move you can be viewed as assault get footage. After: 1. Provide copies of all identifying footage to police 2. Place images on social media and ask public to help identify intruders Green Shirts will assist by using our platforms to post this material. 3. Make formal complaint to police 4. Consider taking civil action to sue identified intruders. 5. Support Green Shirts to lobby all levels of government, police, judiciary to change/act upon laws to protect us and our livelihoods. This needs to not only be shared but we also need to hit the phones to make people aware and to develop the networks for support in case of invasion. This is based on QLD laws and from advice given to us to date. We encourage everyone to ensure they understand how the laws of their state may differ. #greenshirtsmovementQLD

13.01.2022 Although the CGS industry has moved into the production/operation phase there is still a considerable amount of wells and infrastructure to be built. Currently there are around 6,000 production wells drilled and estimates are for between 18,000-40,000 wells across the industry lifespan, representing a significant amount of work still to be completed. AgForce are holding CSG Advanced Negotiation Workshops at Dalby, Injune & Chinchilla next week (the last workshops in our region for this year). Sign up http://www.agforceprojects.org.au/index.php
11.01.2022 A Northern Territory leaseholder has had to take Origin Energy to court over consultation, engagement and conduct on the pastoral lease. Gas production is just... getting underway in the NT but surely these gas companies should have learnt from the 15 years they have been operating in Qld and the very shoddy way they treated some landowners especially in the early days. " "If Origin is found not to have carried out stakeholder engagement then it raises the question as to how the Minister could have approved the EMP to satisfy Regulation 9 and the schedules," NTCA chief executive Ashley Manicaros said. "Stakeholder engagement is a matter for the Minister to consider before giving approvals. Mr Manicaros said not gaining an injunction placed Origin, not the leaseholder, in an interesting position. "If they proceed with the work and are subsequently found to have failed in their stakeholder engagement then they will have entered the property illegally and as Justice Steven Southwood pointed out will be liable for compensation," he said. "However, the bigger issue from the NTCA's point of view is that if Origin proceed with the work it will send a very clear message as to the way the gas industry intends to treat leaseholders when it comes to onshore gas." "I don't think the pastoral industry or Territorians will be overly impressed that when it comes down to it that the gas industry is going to do the complete opposite to what it has promised it wouldn't do which is ride roughshod over leaseholders. "Everyone seems to forget that the properties the gas companies are going to be accessing are operating businesses in a very successful $1.2 billion industry."
