25.01.2022 Hi! I’m Kelly, the founder of Essentials Only. People often ask me why I decided to become a teacher and it’s quite a funny story. A group of people I was studying for my Bachelor of Marine Biology with decided to add on a second degree in education and I joined them. I thought it would be a good back-up plan, but it wasn’t until the final year of my Bachelor of Education degree that I realised I would actually have to teach to get it! I was devastated My mum was a teache...r, so I knew how much hard work teaching was and I didn’t want to do it! But I pushed through the pracs and got both of my degrees. That’s when I realised how much I loved teaching and that I could find a way to combine my two passions. I became a Marine Studies teacher and moved up to Mackay near the Great Barrier Reef. I lived, worked and loved life there for 10 years. I’ll never forget it! What was your favourite job? Let me know in the comments.
