24.01.2022 Next week our Victorian Legislative Council will be asked to vote on rescinding Hume Planning Scheme C248. They will be asked to vote to support the motion to rescind or support dumping of toxic soil in Bulla. I can't be put any simpler than that. ... This is not about interference. This is not about a road. This is not about TBMs laying idle. This is about whether or not those members support the dumping of toxic soil right next to 20,000 new homes and a major population centre of Sunbury. (2021 Est 42,000) The EPA’s charter is to Protect human health and the environment by reducing the harmful effects of pollution and waste, yet on the other hand approve legislative changes that contradict this and fail to meet the minimum standards of the NEMP 2.0 and the Stockholm Convention on POPs. This contaminated soil is not new, its been known about since 2015. If we had of done something back in 2015 would we be in this position 6 years later? Probably not and this is solely on the Government. The government has collected billions from the waste sector in levies and spent just a fraction on innovating the sector, a sector that they will so heavily rely on with their big build. There are genuine solutions that this government is ignoring. We do not oppose the West Gate Tunnel Project and we do not oppose the infrastructure pipeline before us. But we do oppose dumping toxic soil next to 20,00 homes. Looking at the vote that took place in December last year there is 3 members (Ms. Fiona Patten, Mr. Quilty and Mr. Limbrick) that will sway this debate and must decide whether they support dumping toxic soil next to homes, kids and schools. Over coming days we will ask you to support us by calling and emailing these members (more on that soon) You can see below just how close this proposed site is to homes, both established and soon to be built. Land just down the road from this site is about to title and dreams are about to be built.

20.01.2022 Sunbury Road today is in a very unsafe condition due to significant mud trailing out from Hi-Quality. Even though traffic on our roads is reduced Hi-Quality must as part of their planning permit ensure that the road is cleaned and it is evident that they are not. I ask anyone that is using Sunbury Road I ask that you put forward a complaint to VicRoads using https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/cont/feedback-and-enquiries or by calling 131170 and lodging an incident.... Also 1) Be cautious the road will be slippery 2) increase your breaking distance 3) Reduce your speed The more complaints we get to VicRoads the more they have to pay attention.

16.01.2022 Just drove along Sunbury road moments ago and the state of the road is appalling. The mud stretches approximately 3km from Hi-Quality all the way down the hill. It is Hi-Qualities responsibility under their council permit to be cleaning this road. ... Please use the below links to lodge a complaint. Regardlsss if you are driving it or not the more complaints lodged the chance we will get some realistic outcomes. https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/cont/feedback-and-enquiries Hi Quality phone: (03) 9307 1000 and Hume City Council: [email protected] It is councils responsibility to ensure that HQ are upholding their permit obligations.

08.01.2022 Council meeting update from 24/5/21. This statement relates to claims made on the below audio link at approximately 2:16:55 https://soundcloud.com/humecitycouncil/24-may-2021... To clear up any points in the council meeting held on 24/5/2021 with comments made by Cr. Medcraft in relation to our group and actions of our group and the community. Our community and group has never said that council was not advocating in fact much the opposite, we have been supportive of a number of motions raised by council including taking supreme court action. If the community feels that council is not advocating this may be a result of poor communication from council and that it took more than 12 months for council to make an official statement of its position on the Hi-Quality proposal. Late in 2020 we had conversations with the Former CEO at which time it was advised that our community outrage campaign was a necessary part of council’s justification to fight this and which time they applauded our efforts. Cr. Medcraft has made further claims including that he is being attacked online by members of the community the same community he has continually referred to on the record as keyboard warriors, liars and spreading misinformation. With reference to the protest claims made by Cr. Medcraft, All councillors were personally invited on the 13th of April in writing and at no point did Cr. Medcraft confirm his attendance at the protest either in writing prior or to myself on the day or that he wished to speak. On the day we adjusted the agenda a number of times to fit speakers that confirmed with short notice. No person who wanted to speak was denied an opportunity to.

04.01.2022 A safe, sustainable and economical management of PFAS contaminated soil. RemBind is a powdered adsorbent that binds strongly to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in soil, preventing them from leaching into groundwater where they can cause serious harm to the environment and human health. The long-term stability of the RemBind reaction has been successfully tested using the US EPA Method 1320 which simulates 1,000 years of stability in an acid rain environment in an... improperly lined landfill. RemBind treated soils have also been independently verified using the LEAF tests (US EPA Methods 1312, 1313) which test stability over a wide range of pH values (212) and repeated leaches in batch and column scenarios. Other RemBind-treated soils have been left for more than 3 years with no release of PFAS. https://youtu.be/xbFe--5KZvw This product is scalable and useable in the Westgate Tunnel project. Does it have merit? Is the EPA investigation this as an alternative to disposal? Is the state government looking at this as an option?

01.01.2022 How long have we known about the contamination this project would experience. 2015... This government document relating to the Western Distributor Project mentions contaminated land 28 times. ... So Mr Wynne, don't tell me that consulting the public would cause further delays, you've known about it all along and done nothing. https://www.planning.vic.gov.au//Western-Distributor-Proje
