25.01.2022 Peeps and Shelby here. These 2 are sister they got in right before the lock down and we went super short not knowing what was going to happen. I wasnt too worried about going short because as you can see these 2 are not outside in the winter cold hehe.

24.01.2022 As of tomorrow everyone bringing their dog for grooming much be wearing a mask. I will be in mine! ... Dont worry, dogs are not required to wear masks even tho that would be soooo adorable hehe! Stay safe everyone

24.01.2022 Hey everyone.. sorry for all these updates I am now taking bookings as usual but I have reduced the amount of dogs I do per day so it may take a little longer for you to get an appointment. Im trying to reduce the amount of contact with people daily (even tho I am taking all the precautions) . Hope everyone is staying safe

24.01.2022 Do you think you could teach your dog a new trick during quarantine? Little Billie showing off her acting skills

24.01.2022 Just wanted to say a huge thank you to my clients. Everyone has been so easy going with the changed location and the longer wait times. I really appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding of the new guidelines.

24.01.2022 Attention!!! Yes I am at a new location but I am still the SAME PRICE!! The only thing extra I am expecting is extra fluffy dogs ... Again I am the same price nothing more (and nothing less hehe )

23.01.2022 Great news! I was able to book all my clients on my wait list within the first 2 weeks of October! Monday 19th October onwards I have availability so I have decided to open those spots up to new clients. I didnt think I could get all my clients in that fast. ... If you are a new client and you have already contact me I will contact you in the next couple of days if you would still like an app.

23.01.2022 Hey everyone! Yes I am currently still working but I have decided to not take any more bookings for the next 2 weeks until we hear further or until the case numbers start to drop More than welcome to still msg me I Ill pop you on my list and will get back to you as soon as I hear more ... I hope everyone is keeping safe and make sure you wear your mask when going to the shops. We just did

19.01.2022 Good news! I was able to rebook all my cancelled clients and I still have plenty of grooming appointments left in October for my dogs on my wait list. I am going to start calling my wait list clients tomorrow ... By the end of the week I should have more of an understanding as to how long it should take to get an appointment if you are far down my list.

19.01.2022 Does anyone else think staffys have the cutest faces??? Simba came in today for a bath and nail clip. I could have just cuddled him all day he was so snuggly

18.01.2022 EVERYONE SAY A MASSIVE HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO THE KING RICHARD! I cant believe he is already 1 and I cant believe I cant squeeze and kiss him today!!! I love being his aunty and he LOVES me being his aunty haha! This was a video my sister send of him this morning! He is one spoilt pooch!! ... Love you so much Richard!!

17.01.2022 My reaction to the news dog grooming can open in 2 weeks THANK YOU to everyone that signed and shared petitions! Everyone who already had an appointment after the 28th those appointments are still in my diary, and those who I had to cancel I will be calling you over the week to rebook for when I return on the 28th. Once all those clients have been rebooked I will be calling all my clients on my wait list! ... Another massive THANKYOU to all my clients! I have been inundated with lovely messages wishing me well and asking if I am okay I have seriously been feeling the love lately. Its funny because I was worried and mad because I couldnt open because I feel for all the dogs where as all my clients where worried about me and my business which I am so grateful for You have all been so kind and PATIENT with me and it doesnt go unnoticed! I LOVE the community I have built and I have the best clients ever no matter what other groomers say hehe! I wouldnt have this business without each one of your support over the years and for that I am truely thankful! I cant wait until I can see all your faces again and have some furry cuddles Elyse

17.01.2022 Everyone who knows me knows I love to talk so here is a video of me talking haha. I just wanted to jump on and explain whats happening with appointments and make a video so if your pooches miss me you can just show them this video hahahaha

17.01.2022 Attention!! Hey everyone, if you made a booking earlier this year in advance for the 2nd half of this year can you please double check it and if you dont need it anymore cancel it! Ive had SO many clients pre make bookings then forget they have them and make another booking but then dont cancel their original booking. I cant keep track on who is booked in so its up to you to cancel your own booking! ... Sorry to sound straight forward but this is already such a stressy time for everyone and I have around 1 client a day forget they made an appointment!! Elyse

17.01.2022 As many of you know my poor baby broke his front leg queens birthday weekend. He wasnt allowed to bare any weight on his leg so he has literally been carried around everywhere. Due to this he got very matted because I couldnt do any grooming with him and its been killing me, I would clip chunks out here and there while mum held him but its been hard! He got the all clear from the vet last week so today I gave him the quickest clip ever just to get the matts off. I wont ...be entering him in any grooming competitions but Im sooo glad all those matts are gone and we have our playful pup back. I love that I talk about him like he is mine... he is actually my sisters baby but whats hers is mine hehe Go follow his Instagram page https://instagram.com/richard_d_matheou?igshid=qc80ywscl3mk

17.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that Not Too Shaggy dog grooming will be closed until further notice! I am so extremely devastated and angry at our government for their decisions. Please everyone sign all the petitions you see in relation to reopening dog grooming, write a complaint on the dhhs website stating why dog grooming should re open https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/making-complaint... As for me, I will send a message to every client I have to cancel and every client on my cancellation list. I will start to rebook dogs as soon as they have confirmed a return to work date. They are saying its not looking likely until the END OF OCTOBER I will do everything I can to try and fit as many dogs as I can in the 1st couple of weeks we return. I have a very long waiting list so if you are not on my waiting list Or you are far down the list I would suggest seeing if there are any grooming with a shorter list so your dog can get a groom soon after we return. I just rang the covid hotline for businesss to see if I could still groom dogs if they have gotten a medical certificate from the vet. Unfortunately only vets are allowed to clip dogs. If you are finding your dog is struggling there is always the option to take them to the vet for a shave just to get them by. I dont really know what else to say. I am just in utter shock that this is happening. Lets all use our voices and get our words out loud and clear that DOG GROOMING IS AN ESSENTIAL BUSINESS FOR DOGS! I am so sorry this is happening and I am praying that they open their eyes and changes are made. I love and miss you all Elyse xx

16.01.2022 LOCKDOWN HAS BEEN EXTENDED Keep an eye out on this page because I will be updating everyone on what is happening! Thanks again for everyones patients, this is such a hard time for everyone especially small business owners so patience and kindness is much appreciated ... I miss you all and hope I can be back to grooming soon! Fingers, toes are crossed

15.01.2022 I am a few clients asking.... are you allowed to travel outside of your 5km radius to drop your dog off?? If anyone knows for sure please let me know or keep me posted. I wont be rebooking until Monday so hopefully we find out before then

13.01.2022 SOUND ON Its moments like these I push on and dont throw in the towel after all these restrictions and the headache of trying to book everyone in These videos seriously warm my heart ... -Millie

13.01.2022 Same girl, but now I get to hug real dogs haha! #crazydoglover

12.01.2022 Throughout the whole groom Max whimpers and wriggles because well he is an old boy that has issues with his legs and his allowed to hehe, BUT ... as soon as the dryer goes on he doesnt make a sound and sits/ lays perfectly still. He loves when I put the dryer on where his right eye should be (had to be removed) he must love the sensation on that spot. I also found when Buckley had to get his eye removed, he would love when I dried that spot too!

12.01.2022 These two finding their warm spots Zorro and Poppy

10.01.2022 We gotta do what we gotta do

10.01.2022 Working out ways to get dogs dry without them being with me for hours or without them freaking out with the blow dryer... safe to say Scarlette was very impressed with this option

09.01.2022 ~LARGE DOGS~ I have had a lot of people lately inquiring about me grooming their large dogs. I just wanted to say I am so grateful that they contacted me and thankyou for anyone that had recommended me Unfortunately though I am no longer taking on any new big dogs. ... My condition (thoracic outlet syndrome) is worsening and after grooming a large dog I literally suffer for days even weeks. Even dog breeds such as Japanese Spitz or Pomeranian groom outs I am not taking on because I physically cant hold the brush in my hands for that amount of time without extreme pain. A few breeds that are off limits are Groodles , Labradoodles, golden retrievers, Labradors, border collies, standard poodles, huskies, Samoyeds ect I will still accept greyhounds because they hardly need any drying and my arms can handle it. Im sorry I cant accommodate every dog breed because I am a huge fan of the larger breeds I just really need to start listening to my body before I get worse. Thank you everyone for your understanding Elyse

07.01.2022 Please watch if you are wondering about bookings or my wait list

07.01.2022 Meet Jax, his mum is one of my best friends. Lucky Jax just got a groom before lockdown started I can tell tho by his face his upset he wont get to see aunty Leesey for a while

06.01.2022 I want to say a huge THANK YOU to every single person who shared my recent post or who asked around for me. The amount of kindness that is getting shared around right now during this difficult time for everyone is unbelievable and I am so greatly appreciative of both friends and strangers who have reached out to me I am happy to report that I have found a commercial retail site! I am not sure when home based salons will be allowed to operate but everyone who has an appoi...ntment with me your appointments are staying the same just the location might be different so I will be in touch a couple of days before your appointment to let you know which site to bring your dog to! This isn’t ideal but we gotta do what we gotta do to get these doggos groomed Thank you again to EVERYONE!! I love you all

05.01.2022 PLEASE EVERYONE SIGN AND SHARE THIS PETITION. Any other petition relating to groomers reopening PLEASE SIGN!! ... http://chng.it/D2kFDtKHmw

05.01.2022 This message has just been sent to every client in on wait list Hi everyone, You are all on a wait list for an appointment for when I return back to work. ... Please note I am not going to start arranging appointments until Dan Andrews has given us the confirmed return to work date. Hopefully this will happen soon and I am praying the return to work date is still Monday 14th September . All the clients that I had to cancel during this 6 week lockdown I have been able to rebook and the good news is, I still have plenty of appointments in September (meaning most of you on my list will be able to get a groom in September if not early October :)) Just a heads up a lot of my September appointments left are with Ash the other groomer I have helping me. I made the decision to get some help rather than clients having to wait months for an appointment. During this time until I get back on track I am also booking dogs in pairs so I can get through more dogs during the day. Please note all dogs will be kept seperate from each other but it will mean your dog needs to stay with me for a little longer than usual. I know all these changes might be a little concerning to some clients who are used to the one on one service but as I said early, just until I can fit everyone in and get back into a routine I felt these changes were best. Your dogs safety is always my first priority :) I will be calling each one of you as soon as the return to work date gets announced and if you have any issues please let me know then. Thank you so much in advance for your understanding! Elyse

Also please send me some pictures of how your dogs are enjoying this 6 weeks isolation and Ill post them daily on my page to help brighten up everyones day.

04.01.2022 I know i always say it but I have the BEST CLIENTS IN THE WORLD! This isn’t a bragging post but a post to just express how extremely grateful I am to every client I have seen over the past 2 weeks. Everyone has been amazing with the location change and the fact that I’m not one on one and the wait times are longer. My heart is seriously filled right now and I will never forget the love and generosity I have received. I’m just so grateful I was able to continue working and my...self and Ash have busted our bums to try and groom as many dogs as we can in these first 2 weeks. After tomorrow there will be 108 less dogs out there that are suffering due to over grown fur and that is such a great feeling. That’s the reason we do what we do, because we LOVE DOGS!! Again I just wanted to express that I love you all and this community we have built here at Not Too Shaggy dog grooming Elyse

04.01.2022 This is the message every client book in during the 6 week lock down have received. If you have a booking within this time and havent heard from me yet please contact me. Hi everyone, ... I am forced to close for 6 weeks due to the new lockdowns. I will be calling every single one of you and try to arrange a new booking for when I return to work. Thanks in advance for your patience and I will be in contact within the week! Elyse (Everyone is getting called in order of when they are booked in and I am not making any new bookings until all my original bookings are booked in - so dont worry no one will be cutting the cue )

03.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE Every client must place their own dog in the play pen and take off their collar and lead and then put it back on themselves on pick up Conversation to be kept to 5 minutes and under ... Cash is to be put in an envelope or sandwich bag and left on bench (not doing bank transfers as I had a high number or late payers and a lot of chase ups and I am not going through that again, private msg me if you have an issue with cash) Please keep your distance! If you have tested due to illness or close contact with someone who has it STAY HOME until you have the results. If you are feeling under the weather STAY HOME if for some reason I dont feel comfortable grooming your dog I will kindly ask you to leave and return when you are safe! I am reinforcing these strict guidelines due to the recent lockdown rules. Im so mad and scared that Victoria has come to this because people arent doing the right thing! Im trying to do everything has a small business owner to keep everyone safe and make sure no one feels uncomfortable coming to my workplace. PLEASE EVERYONE ELSE DO THE SAME THING! P.s I know these lockdown are not Eltham north but I have a high volume of clients that come from outside the Eltham Greensborough area. Also that doesnt mean everyone else shouldnt be doing their part in slowing down the spread! Elyse

03.01.2022 CLOSED I rang and spoke to the Victorian government business hotline for covid and I was told that EVERY SINGLE GROOMER is to be shut during this lockdown. Whether you groom at a vet, at home, mobile, at a daycare, there is to be NO DOG GROOMING during this 6 weeks! I tried my best to stay open as long as I could but the virus caught up! ... Stay tuned because I will be updating my page in the next couple of days and each client who was booked in will be getting a message and a phone call. Please everyone STAY INSIDE and lets fight this virus together!!!

02.01.2022 I will not be taking on anymore new clients for 2020. Any existing clients who would like to be put on my wait list Im happy to put them on but please keep in mind that the wait list is very long that I might not be able to see you this year. Thanks for everyones understanding ... Elyse

02.01.2022 ATTENTION!!! I need your help. I am starting a petition for dog groomers to be allowed to work during these stage 4 restrictions! ... In the petition I want to provide some statements from dog owners whos dogs rely on dog grooming other than for pampering Some examples : skin conditions Thick wool like coat Prone to ear infections/ eye infections Im also looking for statements from owners who may have tried home grooming at home and either cut or hurt their dog while doing so (Im not judging Im just trying to provide as much evidence as possible as to why dog grooming should be considered a necessary service) If you have a dog that needs dog grooming for a medical or special reason could you please send me a short statement so I can provide evidence in my petition! Thanks you all!!!!

01.01.2022 Hi everyone! I am unclear what will happen regarding my business and staying open. I am doing more research and I have contacted some people to find out if I can stay open. ... Please bare with me and I will know by Wednesday this week. Either way everyone will be contacted who have a booking in the next 2 weeks regardless so please just wait until I contact you! Thanks for your patience

01.01.2022 If anyone wants a spot before the weekend I have a spare spot tomorrow late morning 0431341180

01.01.2022 My nephew and niece !! Yes Im aware one is not a dog (ahhh the horror) hahaha no we welcome all types of animals here Everyone knows Richard aka little dickie and meet Hazel aka zel, zel the goat I know for a fact Richard is already heartbroken its been 7 days and he hasnt seen me, well we do FaceTime daily and Hazel well I cant get too close to her because Lachy is highly allergic to cat hair ... Both tho are loving life atm because they have their parents working from home

01.01.2022 These 2 tools are going to be your best friends during this iso!! Pretty much any long hair breed can be brushed with these tools but if you have an oddle, malt x or Shih x then these are the tools for you! First 2 pictures shown are a SLICKER BRUSH- this one is from Kmart and it works amazingly. It needs to have the tiny bristles on it. Some also come with little cappings on the end of each bristles, that is fine also. ... Pictures 3/4 are a comb. This is the most important because it will catch any knots when you work your way through the coat unlike the slicker brush that can brush over matts. Use a medium tooth comb (meaning the width between each teeth is a medium distance apart) I use the top half of this comb. These combs can be found at pet shops. When brushing your dog I always go over the coat with the slicker brush to loosen the hair. I then run the comb over everywhere that I have brushed. If you come across a knot just slowly go over it with both brush then comb, if its still not budging then its a Matt and will need to be cut out. When combing your dog, make sure you comb all the way down to the skin, most matts are formed from the undercoat. If you cant get the COMB through your dogs coat then DO NOT BATH THEM! If you add water to a Knott it just gets trapped inside and make it larger and tighter on your dogs skin. I hope this info is helpful and please please msg me with any questions you may have. No questions is a dumb question Miss you all
