25.01.2022 Ganesh, remover of obstacles! I like to think of Ayurveda as just that, cleansing, rejuvenating and enlightening. Ayurveda has helped me overcome many obstacles in my life, through meditation, yoga and a healthy cleansing diet I have stripped away the ama or toxins of my past habits past thoughts past fears and past angers to uncover a new and open self. Although I still have many years of work on myself ahead I am no longer scared of the work but embrace the experiences on the journey to come.

23.01.2022 The essence of all things here is the Earth The essence of Earth is water. The essence of water is plants. The essence of plants is a person. Bri.Maya Tiwari

22.01.2022 Ghee beautiful ghee, did you know that Ghee contains butyric acid which has anti viral and anti cancer properties. Maybe that's why I haven' had a cold yet this winter?

22.01.2022 Doing an Ayurvedic cooking demo at Santos warehouse in Byron tomorrow! Come and get some free samples and cooking tips 12 pm!

22.01.2022 Also thanks to Berwin, who has now attended 2 of my workshops! Yay. He asked me an interesting question about the history of Ghee so I will do my best to look into it.

19.01.2022 Spring cleansing: Now is a great time to do Gajakarna, or Kunjala. I highly recommend doing this cleanse with a certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle practitioner. Kunjala helps clear Built up Kapha in the system as a result of the cold winter months, it clears mucus and phlegm from the chest and upper part of the stomach. Kunjala is what helps make the body immune to all diseases, as my teacher taught me there is no health without cleansing. Kunjala is the act of filling the stoma...ch with saline water and then bringing it up. Kunjala helps clear constipation, acne, indigestion and coughs to name only a few, but mostly it improves the immune system and can be used in breaking addictions such as drugs, alcohol, love. Kunjala helps remove Kapha. For a detailed explanation on Kunjala, feel free to contact me.

18.01.2022 Well, I finally did it! Yay. I will be posting much more re: Ayurveda, cooking, life and the journey stay tuned

17.01.2022 Someone offered me a drink today, it was so simple yet so effective and they knew exactly what I needed at that very moment in time: 2 limes squeezed, about a teaspoon of honey and some room temperature water. This pacified all my doshas on so many levels. 1. limes are cooling and the day was definitely beginning to heat up. 2. The honey is heating and also known for it's anti bacterial properties and moves congestion in the Kapha region quite quickly. So Vata was pacified wi...th warmth and sweetness and Kapha was given a nudge to move as I have had some sinus congestion recently. 3. It was also a very windy day so moisture was needed. How my friend knew from only seeing me for 5 minutes, his response was we all have this knowledge buried deep within us we just have to tap into it. This is exactly how I feel about Ayurveda I feel like I have known all this information for years but I am just slowly uncovering it. You can too!

12.01.2022 With the change in weather, we tend to change our diets, lighter foods, more raw foods, however it is important to maintain a strong digestive fire by using spices, you can still have a delicious salad with steamed vegetables, a delicious dressing and lots of flavour by using the spring masala recipe below and creating a tangy and nourishing dressing, here is a quick and easy dressing to kick start those digestive juices Spring Clean dressing 1/4 cup Organic cold pressed oli...ve oil 1/4 cup Organic Cold Presses Black Sesame oil 1 lemon or 2 limes juiced 2-3 Tbsp Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Himalayan pink salt and Black pepper to taste Mix all ingredients in a jar and dress salad just before eating

11.01.2022 "The world is a mountain and our acts are shouts which echo back to us." Rumi This is a beautiful quote that reminds me that Yoga and Ayurveda are not just ways in which we take care of our body and mind but our soul and spirit as well. So go out into this big beautiful world and be kind to yourself and others and the joy will echo back to you.

07.01.2022 Spring: a time for transformation, regeneration. I love spring Pitta and Kapha are predominant, so things like allergies, hay fever and spring coughs and colds pop up. Things to avoid: excess sweet, refined carbs and sugars, fatty foods, too much salt and sour foods.

06.01.2022 Hi all, here is the next cooking working shop, love for you all to come, lovely ghee, delicious pakoras and sumptuous chutney, followed by chai and a sweet.

03.01.2022 Why Ghee you ask? I love ghee, I love the scent it offers up as it is being heated, I love how it acts as an amazing carrier for all the wonderful spices I cook with, but most of all I love how it helps with digestion, in fact it improves digestion. It is excellent for Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

03.01.2022 Here is the start of the Ayurvedic basic sauce and some dhal on the boil. The smell of onions, garlic, ajwain, mustard seeds and cumin seeds permeate the air along with the nutty fragrance of some freshly made ghee.

02.01.2022 Last week I taught an Ayurvedic Cooking class and intro to Ayurveda to a group of very pationate yogis who are doing their yoga teacher training at Shiva Shakti Yoga in Byron Bay. They were so lovely and full of wonderful questions. We talked a lot about Ojas which is an intangible fluid that measures approximately 600 ml, it is our life elixir if you like it is what gives us our vitality, our shine in our eyes our bounce in our step, it is our immunity it is the source of ...all, only the living have Ojas. So what can we do to keep our Ojas levels up? Eating organic, wholesome food cooked with love, in the right quantity at the right time. Do not over do anything whether that's Facebook, t.v, yoga, jogging, wine, beer, food, sex. Excessive ness depletes Ojas. Worry, anger, depression, hatred all deplete Ojas. Being kind and loving and gentle with yourself and with others, plenty of rest, meditation, moderation in all things and a happy buoyant spirit will increase Ojas levels and in turn will help you live longer healthier. For more practices that increase Ojas send me a message . Love Lara
