25.01.2022 That Blue Magic tea I posted last week goes purple when you add lemon or lime! I had it as an iced tea today and it was delicious, like cold Turkish delight. Pretty much any herbal tea can be made into an iced tea and is a good healthy alternative to those sugar packed iced teas from the shop. This is the right time of year to give it a go!

24.01.2022 I miss hugs but some of these seem like ok alternatives for now

24.01.2022 I thought this might be a good time to re-share my immune supportive chicken soup recipe. Its easy, delicious and nourishing and now that things have cooled down a bit in Queensland is on my menu again https://www.nourish2bloom.com.au///17/immune-boosting-soup

22.01.2022 Stressed? Theres a lot going on right now... I tried this yoga routine this morning and loved it. Less than half and hour long but very therapeutic, if you need some stress release give it a try. https://youtu.be/RaPp5jr--xo

22.01.2022 Some stress management techniques below for any stressful time, not just this particular one! Diaphragmatic breathing in particular helps bring your stress levels down. Try box breathing 4-4-4-4 (breathe in for four counts, hold for four, out for four, hold for four). Easy, helpful, free and you can do it anywhere.

21.01.2022 Blue tea for enhanced beauty? Sure why not, I’ll take all the help I can get! . (It was actually quite delicious).

19.01.2022 I think this is all of us. We know what to do for our mental and physical health and wellbeing but the doing is hard, or boring, or takes us out of our comfort zone. Do it anyway. The effort is worth it, you CAN do it, and it will pay off.

19.01.2022 Afternoon tea option - sliced apple sprinkled with cinnamon and eaten dipped in nut butter. Quick, simple, yummy, healthy #nourish2bloom #thegapnutritionist #yum #healthy #whatnutritionistseat #holistichealth #eathealthy #nourish #nutrition

19.01.2022 Ha ha, happy Friday everyone!

18.01.2022 While you might not do some of these in the office (the prayer stretch might look like you’re having a I can’t take this any more moment ) they are all great to do when you get home and/or before bed. Especially on a Friday after a long week.

18.01.2022 A good stretch can wake you up in the morning and/or ease muscle tension after youve been working/watching Netflix all day. Im going to try these stretches for all these things!

17.01.2022 I attended a webinar today called Treating the Aftermath, learning how covid affects many different parts of the body, not only the lungs, and how to support physical healing during and after the illness caused by this disease. Really interesting and heaps of useful information to mull over. There is still a lot to learn.

17.01.2022 Weve heard so many myths about treating coronavirus (COVID-19), so were here to set the record straight. Sunbathing can stop you catching COVID-19 = BUSTE...D. Essential oils can stop you catching COVID-19 = BUSTED. Garlic can stop you catching COVID-19 = BUSTED. Hot drinks can stop you catching COVID-19 = BUSTED. There is no evidence that any of the above myths will protect you from COVID-19. The best way to protect yourself is to wash your hands properly and often; stay at home as much as possible, only leaving when it is essential; cough or sneeze into your elbow or a clean tissue; and follow social distancing recommendations. Get the most reliable information from our website: www.health.qld.gov.au/coronavirus or right here on our Facebook page.

16.01.2022 Food is the best medicine. #nutrition #wednesdaywisdom #perpetualwellbeing

14.01.2022 How are you sleeping? Hows your diet? How are these things connected? Essentially, your body needs certain vitamins and minerals to make melatonin, the sleep hormone. You wont find these vitamins and minerals in a diet high in processed foods but you will find them in a diet packed with vegetables, fruits and whole grains. These same vitamins and minerals are important for stress management, which is also important for a good nights sleep. Makes sense hey? If sleep is an issue for you, have a look at your diet and adjust accordingly.

13.01.2022 Healthy lunch today: cabbage and carrot and tomato and cold potato and chicken, dressed with my favourite dressing of olive oil and lemon. So yum and a definite rainbow on my plate. Eaten in the sun with a book so good for my mental health too

13.01.2022 This is so beautiful

12.01.2022 Take some time to relax this weekend. Its therapeutic!

12.01.2022 And now for some good news!

12.01.2022 Hand sanitizer is the latest must have accessory in any kids lunchbox

11.01.2022 Anyone else doing this? How come we never crave a carrot when were bored?? If youre worried about putting on weight while youre stuck/safe at home try distracting yourself before you reach for an extra snack - have a glass of water or take an (appropriately distanced) walk around the block. And if you cant resist then try to make a healthier choice. Or just dont keep the junk food in the house. See, heaps of options! Hang in there folks, this too shall pass.

11.01.2022 Is it COVID-19 or the flu or just a cold? This infographic will help you to tell the difference. Knowing what to look out for can keep you and others safe. Take care everyone.

10.01.2022 If you are struggling during this time of huge change and disruption to our normal lives please check out the attached link for some ideas on how to cope. There are lots of good tips including how to talk to your kids about the pandemic, how to stay positive and how to stay connected in a time of physical distancing. 09.01.2022 The low-tech plant is still the key to health #wednesdaywisdom #perpetualwellbeing

08.01.2022 Growing evidence suggests that people who smoke could be more likely to be severely impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19) if they become infected, because smoking ...damages and weakens the lungs. If youre looking for a reason to give smoking the flick for good, this should be one #WorldNoTobaccoDay

08.01.2022 We all know diet and exercise is important, and here is just another reason why. A new study shows diabetes cannot just be prevented but also possibly reversed by a healthy diet and healthy exercise. Amazing.

08.01.2022 Lets call it physical distancing to save any confusion?

07.01.2022 Not yet, but soon hopefully!

06.01.2022 Its been quite a year/month/week/day. I hope this makes you smile.

06.01.2022 Just in case you need it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pLUleLdwY4

04.01.2022 Yum! One to add to my salad repertoire

04.01.2022 Self care is always important and right now it is even more so. Try checking some of these off every day.

04.01.2022 Great graphic here showing some natural ways to support your immune system. Please share if you think it will be helpful, especially with any at risk, immune-compromised people in your life. And wash your hands

03.01.2022 Some good advice here about how to be a considerate shopper

03.01.2022 I started today with a You Tube yoga session and a nutritious breakfast eaten on the deck in the sun. I dont always practice what I preach, because life, but I sure feel better when I do!

03.01.2022 Were all doing it! Sometimes its boredom, sometimes its stress, sometimes its both. We go all early human when were stressed and think we need to eat ALL the food just in case it rains for 40 days and nights or theres a comet or something, however, sadly for us, early humans went a bit Pete Evans (ish!) with proteins and fruits and veg and we go a bit Garfield with all the everything else but. So when this is over, and it will be one day, give me a call. I have some excellent weight loss protocols to get you back on track. In the meantime, if its not in the house you cant eat it so...

03.01.2022 Antibiotics can literally be a lifesaver but what happens to your beneficial gut bacteria after something designed to kill ALL bacteria does its thing? Good gut health is vitally important for your immunity, your skin, and your mental health, so replenishing your gut microbiome after antibiotic use is a must and there are specific probiotic strains that can do this.

02.01.2022 This is a great idea! And chalk washes off so its not permanent, can be changed/refreshed regularly and it looks good. Fun for the kids and the grownups

02.01.2022 Something to make you smile

01.01.2022 Working from home lunch - leftover vege lasagne that my daughter and I made last night and a green salad. Yum yum, I could get used to this!

01.01.2022 Love this. It’s hard to do for some of us but it’s super important and one of the building blocks of strong mental health.
