20.01.2022 I’m new to the IG space & very nervous to boot! But to meaningfully contribute to a wider audience, I figure I need to swallow some courage & step up to the plate. So, here I am vulnerability & all! . This post aims to give you a little insight into what you can expect from me. . I’m determined to share worthwhile posts that are written with honesty & integrity. I don’t proclaim to be the ‘perfect foodie’. In fact, my husband well-knows that I enjoy the odd burger & proba...bly more wine than I should. The difference is that I now understand what effect junk-food has on my body & I give a damn about my health. More than anything, I want to be able to keep up with my little boy & run / cycle until I’m 90+! . You will NOT receive judgement or haughty posts that make me out to be the picture-perfect human. Trust me - I have been there, done that with food / diets, feeling tired all the time & having a pregnant-looking belly most meals. My own health journey will never stop as I continue to learn more each day & make mistakes whilst I figure out this complex web of health. I wish to help others by sharing this journey (in what I hope is a humble & understanding way). . My aim is to shift the norm towards real, nutrient-dense food for health & happiness. Some of this will conflict with conventional nutrition guidelines, so I intend to debunk widely-held myths & support this with research (so that you can make your own decision). . I intend to be active on IG, without taking up too much of your time. So, when I do post, it’s with the intent to provide you with something meaningful. . What you can expect from my feed is: amateur photos of real food meals (usually #lchf, but not always), blogs on women’s health & how nutrient-dense foods support health & happiness. I may also post the odd awkward selfie & random pictures of my #mumlife & #runningmotivation (can’t help myself ). A big thank you to all my followers. It means a lot to me that you’re listening

12.01.2022 How to Boost Energy All Day Long . Start the day off with a breakfast that packs the right macros & nutrients - it helps maintain my energy levels throughout the day & prevents me from snacking . Frittata is always a firm favourite as it can be made when you have the time & wraps up nicely for a takeaway breakfast option.... . INGREDIENTS 12 free range eggs (organic if possible) 1 cubed & roasted sweet potato 3 handfuls of sautéed veggies. (mushrooms, leeks, kale, capsicum etc) 100ml of Almond milk (or milk of choice) A sprinkling of seeds / nuts (pecans, walnuts, almonds, pumpkin / sunflower seeds work well) . Bake in a dish for 20mins until lightly browned . #recipeoftheday #breakfastideas #jerf #lchf #mealprep #nutrionaltherapy #realfood #realfoodapproach See more

12.01.2022 Our Ancient Greek father of medicine used food to treat many illnesses (within reason). Go one step further and view real, nutrient-dense food as a prevention rather than cure. #hippocrates #jerf #preventionovercure

10.01.2022 Nourishing Babies & Children . I do my very best to ensure my toddler has the best start in life & this means preparing real, nutrient-dense meals. . Ever since starting solids, I have strived to get my toddler enjoying pretty-much the same food as the us. Although his preferences change, on a constant basis , he does pretty well to eat "most" of the dishes I serve him.... . Anyone interested in some suggestions for #toddlerfood? . #cleanfood #jerf #lchf #lowcarbkids #mumlife #nutrition #paleo #realfood #realfoodapproach See more

05.01.2022 . I'm a big fan of scrambled eggs for breakfast . Why? .... * They are quick & easy to make. * Taste phenomenal (to me anyway) * Are a source of high-quality protein (recognised by the World Health Organization). * Contain all B vitamins, including vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, choline, biotin, and folic acid. . In fact, eggs rank higher in choline than any other foods #pregnancysuperfood . * Egg yolks contain omega-3 fats (especially pasture-raised), so please #eattheyolks. * Are a rich source of most minerals (especially those that can be difficult to obtain from other foods), such as selenium and iodine. * Are low in calories, despite this mega list of benefits . Add some sautéed veggies, goats cheese, spring onion or avocado to make extra happy eggs! . For my alternative breakfast of Frittata recipe, check out my website (link in bio). . #lowcarbbreakfast #macros #breakfastideas #choline #nutrientdense #realfood See more
