20.01.2022 Water kefir is a sparking live-cultured drink, similar to kombucha. The main difference is that it's not made with a tea so it has a more neutral flavour which is often why kids like it more. It's still a probiotic soda water packed with beneficial microbes, and a healthier alternative to a soft drink, for any age!

We do a lot more than sprouts now but we've never moved away from our reason for starting in the first place, to bring nourishing food to our community with a focus on sustainable packaging and cyclic economy. 18.01.2022 We are fortunate to have a tree lopper in the NWFoods family - Barry has just worked a double market weekend only to come help us clean up the destruction from the storm. Serious legend, thanks @barrystanbridge This blackbutt tree is the largest on our property, thankfully it didn't come down or it would have taken our entire commercial kitchen & coolrooms out. It's got a crazy massive twisted hanging dangerously down, Barry is on his way up to chop & lower it down, he has impressive climbing skills! #carnageindoonan

12.01.2022 Our place was in the storm path last night, I've never been in a cyclone but wondering if it was close to one. Intense wind kicked in almost instantly at super speed. It's snapped massive trees in half, uprooted others and the ones left standing have lost tops & limbs. It came so suddenly we only managed to get one vehicle undercover and amazingly the trees seem to have fallen around the ones we didn't get to as well as our main structures. A huge tree snapped in half and... fell just missing our truck! The pictures of the branches scattered on the ground are usually clear lawn. I can hear the chorus of chainsaws starting up in Doonan! We're super appreciative of @noosafarmersmarkets for lending us a 3phase extension cable for our generator (which we recently moved and hadn't organised for yet!) 11.01.2022 Early morning delivery at our place - our new bottling machine! The production crew have been doing a mammoth task bottling all our kombucha and water kefir with our current basic setup. This delivery has had many delays because of COVID (had to come from overseas, then Victoria). For those of you new to Nourishing Wholefoods, welcome. We are a family business with a commercial kitchen in the shed on our property. We have an awesome little crew of people working with us to keep the goods flowing. 07.01.2022 These bad boys are what make up our traditional Hot Sauce and our Inferno Hot Sauce. The red one, which is the Carolina Reaper Chilli delivers an average of 1,569,300 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) per fruit. As a comparison, jalapeno peppers score between 2,500 to 8,000 SHU per fruit.
