25.01.2022 This Easter weekend there are only four reasons for you to leave your house: Food and supplies that you need, exercise, medical care and care giving, and work a...nd education - if necessary. Conservation Regulator officers will patrol Victoria’s forests and campgrounds to make sure everyone understands that all recreational activities beyond exercise are not allowed. That means no recreational fishing, no hunting, no boating, no camping. Stay home, Protect our health system. Save Lives. More info at: https://www.ffm.vic.gov.au/media-r/park-and-forest-closures

21.01.2022 Due to the Covid -19 laws which severely restrict the use of communal areas such as toilets, showers and camp kitchens in Victorian caravan parks we are going to remain closed until after the Victorian Government lifts those bans. It is not an easy decision to make but our community's safety comes first. We look forward to reopening at some stage soon. 18.01.2022 If you thought there was enough bull in the world at the moment here is yet more. This scrapmetal work by Jon Hayes has just jumped out of the stocktruck at the Nowa Nowa retro Caravan Park. Hopefully as Spring approaches many will be able to visit our unique town situated on the East Gippsland Rail Trail and home to the fabulous trestle bridges. The park is open on a restricted basis. nowanowacaravanpark.com.au

15.01.2022 Victa the eagle was once a lawn mower in a previous life but has returned in another form to the caravan park. Why not break your journey between Sydney and Melbourne and visit Nowa Nowa. Victa will be here as well as other scrapmetal works in this quirky caravan park on the East Gippsland Rail trail. Stephen Stewart nowanowacaravanpark.com.au . 0423545318

13.01.2022 Come back to East Gippsland this long weekend - there’s plenty of Forests and Parks open to check out. Why not jump in the car and head out to these amazing sit...es in the far east? Have a picnic at the recently reopened Drummer Picnic and Rest Area just off the Princes Highway, east of Cann River. Pack the camping gear and head to the Ada River Campground and keep a look out for signs of new growth after surrounding areas being impacted by fires. Access is only available from the south via Errinundra Road. Wet a line at the Choof Choof campground near Tamboon Inlet try your chances at catching a flatty or two in the Cann River or jump in the kayak and go for a paddle. Just down the road is Furnell Landing the gateway to the popular Tamboon Inlet which is now open for boat launching or to enjoy a riverside picnic overlooking the water. Heading for the hills? The Mitchell River National Park, Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park, the Western Alps within Alpine National Park, Howqua Hills Historic Area, Mount Buffalo National Park, Bogong High Plains and Mount Feathertop are all open. Some areas are going to look a lot different after the fires with burnt materials on the ground but there’s also sprouts of new growth. Please stick to formed driving and walking tracks to allow these burnt areas to recover.
