21.01.2022 So, last weekend I was out and about taking photos at Stevensons Falls in Marysville. I was on the bridge that looks up at the beautiful waterfall and thought to myself, what a spectacular place, what a great place this would be to have a wedding. As I was taking photos I noticed a couple next to me, they were talking and I didn't really hear what they were saying as I was going about my own business. Then all of a sudden I realised what was going on, and I ran off the bridge..., camera and tripod in hand, and got out of the way of this life-changing event. 17.01.2022 SkyHigh Mount Dandenong is such a wonderful place for a wedding. Around every corner, there is a beautiful spot to take a photo. But for me, one of my favourite parts of getting to capture weddings there has got to be when the sun goes down. There is a mist that comes over the mountain and if you catch it at just the right time, magic happens! Here are Tash and Grant outside on the balcony at Sky High, the temperature was 4 degrees and behind me is a room full of people inside with the heater on. That didn't bother Tash and Grant. They were happy in each other's arms, outside in the mist.

That's why rather than pose you for hours, I like to gather you and your bridal party and go for a walk. 14.01.2022 Who's gonna pick up all that confetti! Here are Maria and Gavin after the beautiful wedding ceremony on top of Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. Around 20 minutes before we took this photo they exited their ceremony through that red door and were absolutely pelted with confetti, bubbles and rose petals. It was quite a sight!

14.01.2022 Remember your wedding in a different way! When I got married I remember thinking, I wonder how Em (my wife) is going at the moment. Was she having fun, was she nervous, stressed? It's a part of the day that I never got to see and the "getting ready" stage of the day is a part that not many people get to see. As I started taking photos of weddings I realised that I was documenting the whole day and while doing it taking A LOT of photos and I just so happened one day to be sc...rolling through a wedding when I held down the right arrow in my editing software and every photo started to flash up before me. It was a perfect timelapse, like a documentary of the day. There weren't words or sounds, but it gives couples a true representation of what happened on their day. It's not fabricated, it's not perfect, when you make a silly face it stays in the video and I think that's what makes these timelapse so special. They represent what your wedding actually looks like, you and your partner having the time of your lives! I think these timelapse videos are pretty special, you can share them with your friends and family, share them on social media for those who weren't there, or keep them for yourselves! I think it's so special and important that I like to give these away for free who choose me as their photographer.

My favourite part is getting to capture moments like this one, a moment where I've probably asked Amie and Blake to take the best serious photo that they can, I probably got them to stare into each other's eyes and it just made them laugh! 11.01.2022 I love finding little spaces at venues that don't look like much or don't look like they would be great for a photo. behind this tree is the main road, just to the left is a welcome sign for the Wyreena Community Arts Centre and surrounding us is the car park for the venue. But standing at just the right angle you could be in the middle of a garden or nestled in the trees of a forest. I love finding spots like these.

11.01.2022 This is me! I'm Matt and I hang out with people at their weddings, oh and I take photos while I'm there! I'm so happy to be back taking photos! 2020 has been so tough on so many people and I know that not being able to take photos isn't really a problem worth mentioning, but it just feels so good to get back to normal (kind of). I've been out shooting a lot of engagement photoshoots over the past few weeks and I think the feeling is pretty mutual with couples who have had ...to endure the stress of postponing and reorganising their big days. It's nice to see people smiling again, it's nice to see people outside again, it's nice to see people celebrating their engagements and their wedding days and for me personally, it's nice to be there to capture those moments for couples to remember. I'm so sorry that 2020 happened, but for me personally, it's made me appreciate being able to do what I love to do. And that's hanging out with people on their wedding days, laughing with them, and helping to document their day so that those moments last a lifetime. You can be surrounded by trees and then walk around a corner to an enormous lake, bustling with life and if you look closely you might even spot people out on a gondola ride. At the end of Megan and Richard's awesome wedding day, they said - "Do you reckon we could get a photo with a tram in the background?". "Hell Yeah" I said in response. 06.01.2022 I really, really love taking group photos at weddings, I generally take 3 photos. One where everybody smiles at the camera, another where I get everyone to put their arms up in the air and then a third where I do the corny old thing where I say 'now this time we need to be loud'. Well at Sarah and Cam's wedding at the Glasshaus Outside I didn't even need to ask for everyone to be loud, they were still cheering from the second photo! The sun is setting and they're about to head out to the dance floor to party the night away. They have been looking at each other all day but the smiles have been there in every moment, in almost all of the photos I took on their big day they looked at each other like it was the first time they saw each other. I guess that's what you call love.

I love the little moments happen when newlyweds take a few seconds and realize that, yep, they have just done it. All that planning, all the practice, all the stress it's all out of the way. 01.01.2022 Your wedding photos will be there long after the cake has been eaten and the flowers have wilted. They last forever, they are moments captured in a fraction of a second to be passed down from generation to generation. To me, it's pretty important that you have fun while you create them. What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day? For me, it certainly wasn't having my photo taken, but when it happened it certainly was a lot of fun. Like a mini celebration after the ceremony and before the big celebration that is your reception. I remember it so fondly and it's an experience that I hope to pass on to those I am lucky enough to be in contact with. Photos should be fun, relaxed, and in no way stressful. 01.01.2022 "All roads lead to you" I love engagement photoshoots. They are a great way to get comfortable with your photographer and they get you used to having your photo taken. Skye and Cara didn't need much coaching, they were pretty comfortable with having their photo taken and it really shows.
