12.01.2022 SHEEP GRAZIERS WARNING- HUNTER A reminder to all livestock owners, as this cold snap hits, livestock energy requirements increase by as much as 10% to 30%. Duri...ng cold, bleak weather, increase the rations for all classes of stock by 20%. The extra feed should be provided as hay. In particular those in poor condition, heavily pregnant or with young calves at foot, ewes lambing or with lambs at foot, and freshly shorn sheep are most at risk. Monitor stock closely and ensure enough protection is provided. This may require moving your livestock to a more protected area where they can get out of the wind and rain.
