21.01.2022 SCAM ALERT - A client of mine has just had a phone call from the ATO legal department threatening to take their house if they dont pay outstanding taxes immediately. My client was given the option to reply to the message by pressing the # key. Instead they opted to hang up and then rang the 02 number back. it wasnt answered. Please be aware of elaborate scams that are making the rounds. If you are contacted by the ATO in relation to outstanding mystery amounts, your accountant or bookkeeper can look into it for you.
